A Glamorous 1920’s Wedding Affair: Sarah & Damien…
This is one totally glam wedding!
Everything about it screams hollywood starlet, Sarah is one seriously sexy siren and Damien is rocking the dapper gentlemen look! The venue is astounding and the photography captures every element of the day brilliantly. Add in some pretty romantic details and you pretty much have the best wedding EVER!!!
Sarah and Damien chose to marry at the Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel in Southwell, Nottingham on the 17th February 2013, “It was love at first sight for us both with the venue, we knew it was perfect for us in every single way. The decor was just amazing and so us, it felt perfect.
I really wanted a wedding with a difference and I totally love 1920s style, so we decided go for that theme, with flapper dresses, flapper headbands and feathers instead of flowers. My dress was from a shop called Emily Bridalwear in Sheffield. I knew exactly what I wanted so they adapted a dress and cut out the back for me. They were brilliant. My shoes and head peace were both from monsoon. My beautiful ostrich feather fan was made by Britten Weddings. I wore Damien’s grandmothers Art Deco style watch, it’s really beautiful and was perfect for the theme. It also meant a lot to him that I wore it.
I walked down the aisle to Des’res – Kissing You, I always knew that would be my wedding song ever since I watched Romeo & Juliette when I was at school. So I was relieved when Damien said he liked it. We signed the papers to At Last – Beyonce and walked out to Paolo Nutini – Pencil Full of Lead. We love that song it’s really fun and happy and was perfect with the theme.
I really wanted the wedding to look quite classy & sexy so decided to opt for the bridesmaids to wear black. The dresses were from Zara, they were perfect for us. They were flapper style with black lace and ostrich feather trimming. My friend made the flower girl dresses for me, so they were very similar with the ostrich feather trimming but ivory. The bridesmaids and flower girls carried ostrich fans that I made for them and the men looked great in their tuxedos with their feather buttonholes which I also made.
Our photographer Marie Anson, was fantastic, we are really pleased with all the pictures. She’s captured every single moment of our fabulous day.
We have both said it was the best day of our live’s by far (discounting having children!). If I was to give any advice it is to just relax and enjoy every single stage of it, from planning to getting ready, and walking down the aisle. Luckily neither of us had bad nerves, so they didn’t take over and we just thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I also kept a lot of the planning away from Damien so the majority of it was a surprise for him and it didn’t take over our relationship that way either, which also worked in my favour as I had everything exactly the way I wanted it! 🙂 x

How could we possibly pick a favourite shot from all of these? If we had to which we really don’t but we are gonna…would be the one with Sarah sat on her bed, the back of that dress is just stunning! Isn’t the feather fan just beautiful too, a great idea instead of flowers.

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing Sarah looked. She was a dream to help fit, style and create with. I am so pleased she had the day she had dreamed of, planned and styled for so long.
What a fantastic wedding x
