ELECTRIC LOVE!!
As you already know,we love anything colourful, quirky and modern so imagine our delight when this little beauty turned up in our inbox. A styled engagement shoot to end all engagement shoots! We don’t share too many E-sessions on this blog, because if I am being completely honest they can sometimes be a little bit boring? Yet this is the perfect example of how to liven it up a bit and have fun!
Hoopla! Events & Color Pop Events teamed together to create the shoot so we asked them share their inspiration…
“With this styled engagement shoot we knew that we wanted to include Valentine’s Day into the mix without it seeming stereotypical. It’s always in our nature to take it to another level. That’s how our vision led us to “Electric Love” a bold, quirky science concept, using a pink, red, yellow and orange color palette in the design elements.
The entire concept was tied together brilliantly with the colorfully painted “Edison” light bulbs, industrial cage lanterns, lamp shades and patent electric prints. Helsinki Hudson known for its killer live shows, graciously allowed us to shoot at their eclectic vintage/industrial venue. The shoot was photographed by the ever so creative Rachel Collet Photography. NST Pictures filmed the love in motion of our models who ironically, used to date and had awesome on-camera chemistry.
No Valentine’s Day would be complete without flowers, which the talented Flowerkraut incorporated into the hanging frames creating a romantic contrast. Sandra Picco Design created the bold in-your-face save the date. Our model wore dresses from Rent the Runway that were both fun and flirty, complemented with statement jewelry pieces for each look. Both models’ hair and makeup were done by Luxe Salon and Spa which had our models looking and feeling fabulous.
Although an engagement inspiration, the concept is entirely fit for any couple that loves all things science, industrial, or just loves bold and colorful inspiration!
Nothing says FUN like bold, bright, in-your face colors when choosing your color scheme for your wedding. Decor items can easily be created by even a novice DIYer. Establish your color scheme and head over to your local craft store to pick up spray & acrylic paints. The hanging pictures frames and Edison light bulbs were painted in coordinating colors with acrylic paint. Prints in the hanging frames were found on Esty to tie in the electric theme and colors.
If you’re obsessed with spray painting, get ready to make some magic!!!! The cage lanterns and lamp shades can be purchased at a local hardware store and spray painted to tie everything together. All of these DIY projects cost little too nothing and were short on time needed, with the exception of literally watching paint dry!!!
