We LOVE This Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look with Flamingos & Gray Malin
Michelle and Brooks wedding was a bright, fun flamingo extravaganza filled with elements and inspiration from all the favorite things they shared as a couple, from their Gray Malin inspired balloons to the Katy Perry themed cake and first dance.
“We have so much fun together as a couple that we really wanted guests to experience that at our wedding.” Michelle told us.
“I used to be a dress designer in NYC, so I designed and handmade my bubblegum pink sweetheart wedding dress. An extremely special moment was finally getting to show Brooks the dress I made. Seeing his first reaction when I walked down the aisle, and later, showing him the blue heart sewn inside the dress was priceless. The heart was cut from a blue dress I wore on our favorite date in NYC.” she explained.
“We love the photography of Gray Malin, especially his Balloon Series so we chose specific balloons from his photos such as the pink and blue zebras, parrots, flamingos, pineapples, popsicles, champagne bottles, etc… It became sort of an ‘Ode to Gray’.”
“Being a huge Katy Perry fan, I surprised Brooks with a Left Shark wedding cake. Left Shark popped out of the top with the inscription “You’re the Right Shark for me!” written on the cake. And to add to the Katy Perry love, our first dance was to ‘Firework’.”

Why I Love The Idea of a Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look
When I think about the idea of a Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look, I can’t help but get a little giddy. There’s something utterly enchanting about embracing the bold, the colorful, and the unexpected. Katy Perry, with her unapologetic style and flair for the dramatic, offers a refreshing departure from the traditional bridal aesthetic. And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want a little bit of that pop star magic on their big day?
First off, let’s talk about the colors. A Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look is anything but beige. Just look above at the pictures of the palette bursting with vibrant pinks, electric blues, and dazzling purples. It’s like stepping into a candy store, where every shade is more delicious than the last. When I imagine a bride walking down the aisle in a dress that’s more rainbow than ivory, I can’t help but smile. It’s as if she’s saying, “This is my day, and I’m going to have fun with it!” And isn’t that what weddings should be about?
But let’s not forget the drama. A Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look is all about making a statement. Whether it’s through an oversized bow, a glittering headpiece, or even a dress that lights up (yes, I’m serious), her look is never boring. I remember attending a wedding where the bride wore a traditional gown but added a Katy-inspired twist with a bold, sparkling tiara. The way it caught the light during the ceremony was pure magic. It was a reminder that sometimes, it’s the little details that make the biggest impact.
Now, I can already hear the skeptics. “But isn’t that too much? Won’t it be over the top?” Sure, a Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look isn’t for the faint of heart. But that’s the beauty of it. It’s for the bride who wants to break free from convention, who isn’t afraid to embrace her inner diva. It’s for the couple who wants their wedding to be a true reflection of their personalities—bright, bold, and undeniably fun.
In a way, a Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look is symbolic of living life out loud. It’s about celebrating love in the most vibrant, joyful way possible. It’s about saying, “This is who we are, and we’re not afraid to show it.” And honestly, isn’t that what marriage is all about?
Reflecting on this, I’ve learned that weddings don’t have to fit into a box. They can be as wild, whimsical, and wonderful as you want them to be. So, if you’re considering a Katy Perry Inspired Wedding Look, I say go for it. Embrace the color, the drama, and the fun. After all, your wedding day should be as extraordinary as you are.
Love this!
What a fabulously pink wedding! They’ve managed to incorporate a theme without taking away any elegance. Great photos too!
If you’re going to ‘go pink’ this is definitely the way to do it! Love it!
