Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Part 1 of our shoot at Yosemite with dresses by “Green Queen” Deborah Lindquist!
Finally it’s here, the shoot we have been rambling on about since we came back from California a couple of weeks ago!
When we decided to visit California a shoot with the wonderful Mariel Hannah was always going to be on the cards, but when we were offered the chance to shoot dresses designed by eco couture designer Deborah Lindquist we knew it was going to be something special.
Deborah Lindquist is famous in the fashion world as the “Green Queen” designing environmentally conscious couture dresses as well as a host of other ready to wear apparel. She uses recycled and eco-friendly materials for all of her designs, not only ensuring she is doing her bit to take care of the planet, but also means that each of her designs has a very unique look. Many of Deborah’s designs have an iconic vintage cashmere style about them that has created her a following of fans around the world as well as with stars such as Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.
Because of the wintery feel of her latest statement cashmere wedding dress we decided where better to shoot than in a Forest (home from home for us forest folk). So armed with dresses, camera equipment, hair and make-up equipment and guitars (of course some music is always fun!) We headed out on the four hour journey to snowy Yosemite.
We were lucky enough to be able to stay in a cabin for the weekend which really got us in the mood for the rustic woodland vibe of the shoot. For this we would like to say a special thanks to Ashton and Chad for their awesome cooking skills and help on set when the rain really set in, and a special thanks to both these guys for making this happen (and of course serenading us with your guitars all weekend!).
We would also like to give special thank outs to Amber from AV beauty for all your hard work on the incredible hair and makeup. Dang this girl knows her stuff! And we are forever grateful to Mariel of Mariel Hannah photography for her talent especially, as well as her passion for her work which is astounding! Also a huge thank you to Toni, our beautiful model, for bearing all in the elements – your a trooper! These girls were so determined to make this shoot work even when the threat of storms coming in may have meant we would have had to leave the forest, we have never seen such fortitude and we really can’t thank them enough.
We really hope that you have enjoyed part one of our Yosemite shoot. For more photos head over to Mariel’s blog and check us out on Saturday for part two, with a special appearance from Bespoke Brides very own Jessica!
Much Bespoke Love

She is not only a FABULOUS designer but she is an AMAZING person, selfless and always there for everyone!! She is my “Auntie Debbie” and has worked her butt off for years to be who and what she is today! People should see a lot more of her!! So love that you are sharing her amazing designs!! My Grandmother is smiling down on her daughter right now….I know it!!
Couldn’t agree more! When we met Deborah we were taken back by how kind she was! Such a beautiful person, her designs deserved to be shared as much as possible!
