We Visit The Vintage, Handmade, Bespoke & Unique Wedding Fair
We have had such an awesome weekend, kicking off our wedding fair tour with our very own stall at the ‘Vintage, Handmade, Bespoke & Unique Wedding Fair’ at Over Farm Barn in Gloucestershire. There are a few reasons for this, we got to meet lots of lovely soon to be brides and grooms and we met some wonderful exhibitors. Not only did we leave feeling excited about all the amazing weddings we got to hear about we also left feeling completely inspired.
There were a number of really amazing small businesses exhibiting at the fair this time each with their own inspiring story as to how their business had started. For instance Dream Favours, owned by the beautiful Kelly Richardson. Dream favours began only a few moons ago, whilst planning for her own wedding, Kelly decided to make her own favours. Now Kelly is a seriously successful business women, shipping her favours all over the world from Australia to America, and from the photos you can see why, they are just so pretty.
As soon as we entered the fair we were over the moon at the number of local businesses that were there each offering something unique and quirky, one of our favourites had to be The Slate Boutique. Kate Sage is the brains behind this venture. Again the idea come from planning her own wedding, Kate wanted something unusual to jazz up the barn they held their reception in. The idea came from bits of left over slate that her husband had discarded whilst working in his job as a roofer. Not only does the slate boutique now have a range of wedding items, they have a whole range of home wares perfect for gifts to you or of course for others.
We spent a great deal of the day nattering to new people and of course putting faces to names of a few that we have previously featured on Bespoke Bride. These were Jo Balme from Fabulous Florists and Lesley Davies from The Vintage Hire. Both these lovely ladies were part of a Styled Vintage Shabby Chic Wedding Yurt Shoot that we featured on the blog recently. These two ladies especially inspired us with their sound business advice and the kind words they had to say about Bespoke Bride, we look forward to working with you both in the future and a huge thank you for all your help.
We also got to meet Rebecca from Isaiah Vintage, who along with her mother is responsible for creating the most gorgeous brooch bouquets, there beauty really is astounding. Like many other women in the wedding industry the business really started when Rebecca’s mother made her her own brooch bouquet for her wedding day. Each bouquet can take up to two months to create as they are tailored to each brides own personal tastes and requirements, for some this may include incorporating a precious heirloom. Brides that decided to let Isaiah Vintage create their bouquets are kept up to date on the process of the bouquet with regular picture updates and each bouquet once completed is named after the bride.
There was even more bling courtesy of Karen, the founder of Karosa jewellery with her beautifully hand made silver jewellery. Based in the Forest of Dean each piece is said to be inspired by the landscape. From Dreams were exhibiting their gorgeous bespoke wedding gowns and cakes perfect for those brides who want their personality and individuality reflected in their dress.
For any of you that read the blog religiously you will know we have a mega obsession with photo booths, if there is a photo booth present you can bet your bottom dollar we will be in it. Lizzy May of Lizzy May Photography was not only offering natural and contemporary photo packages, but also for the lucky brides that booked their photography that day, she included a free photo booth at the wedding, perfect entertainment for all your guests.
As you can imagine all the excitement of the day made us two very hungry ladies, but we needn’t of despaired, mobile caterers ‘Cater Cater’ kept us in delicious food all day long from mini Yorkshire puddings filled with beef to soft cheese and smoked salmon. We were in luck for desert as well thanks to Red Party Solutions and their sweet buffet.
The organiser of the event herself was also exhibiting at the show with her unique hand made stationary. Nikki is the founder of Two Little Words Wedding Stationary and had worked so hard to ensure that the day ran smoothly and that the suppliers were highly recommended. From Bespoke Bride, the exhibitors and visitors on the day we would like to say a huge thank you to Nikki for all her hard work and for inviting us to the show.
Over Farm Barn is a truly amazing venue with its beautiful courtyard, maisonette balcony overlooking the barn and high beamed ceilings it is utterly gorgeous and provides the ultimate space for a stylish reception.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Nikki from Two Little Word wedding stationary for organising this awesome event and a huge thank you to the owners of Over Farm Barn – this venue is the ultimate Barn Venue you simply must visit.
Much Bespoke Love
