We Meet the Bloggers behind Boho Weddings & Beyond Beyond!
As if we haven’t shouted about it enough already, we attended the ‘Designer Vintage Bridal Show’ a few weeks back and not only did we have an awesome time but we met some amazing people. We can’t tell you enough how lovely everyone was, it was truely amazing to speak to the people behind the many wonderful businesses in the wedding industry.
We are not going to lie we were more than a tad excited to hear that the queens of wedding blogging were going to be attending the designer vintage bridal show this year and we just had to meet them. Kelly from Boho Weddings and Amma from Beyond Beyond, both had stalls at the show this year.
(Kelly Hood aka Boho Weddings)
(Amma aka Beyond Beyond)
When we met them we have to admit we were a little star struck, these women seriously know their stuff and we were a little nervous interviewing them being the newbies in the business. However we needn’t have been, both Kelly and Amma were amazeballs at answering our questions even if a little crazy from all the tea drinking they had done that day – wink wink!
Anyway enough of us babbling on here is the interview…
♥ Why did you start blogging?
Kelly: I originally started the blog as an extension to my wedding planning business Boho Weddings & Events. It was a way to add personality to the brand but ended up being much more than just that.
Amma: I am a graphic designer so began Beyond Beyond as a way to bookmark photography and features that I found to be of interest or of inspiration when designing my own stationery range, like Boho it was a way to add personality to my brand however it is now a huge part of our business.
♥ What’s your favourite part of your job?
Kelly: I like a good cry so anything that makes me emotional I class as great, it’s usually a real wedding that I have featured, I just love the different styles and each has a different story – I’m a true romantic.
Amma: I love it when I find something that blows my mind and that usually comes in the form of amazing photography. I truely believe that good photography can tell a story.
Kelly: Have you seen Jonas Petersons wedding that photography was amazing that definitely made me cry.

♥ Both of your blogs have a massive readership, do you have any tips or advice for someone trying to build their blog readership?
Amma: Ignore readership would be my best advice. Just keep doing what you like doing, keep it true to your voice and vision and you will get the people that get you. My only other advice would be to make sure you have an element of something different, its no good trying to do something that has already been done.
Kelly: I agree with Amma, make sure you find your niche and stick to it, it’s important so to stay true to the readership that you already have. I would also say write in a style that reflects you in a plain and simple way, no one wants to read long amounts of text with lots of fancy schmancy words. Oh and make sure you stick to writing about things that you’re passionate about, that’s really important.
♥ What achievements are you most proud of?
Amma: I’m proud of my blog in general, I try to take myself away from achievements I just love the whole blog!
♥ What’s next for Boho Weddings?
Kelly: Well Boho weddings has had a makeover so i’m really looking forward to the launch of the new site. It will be easier to navigate around, with a new format and new layout and of course there are a few secrets which you will find out about soon enough. I have also just had the results of my readers survey so i’m really looking forward to hearing what my readers have to say about the blog.
♥ Whats next for Beyond Beyond?
Amma: I’m really looking forward to the lanch of my new magazine ‘Beyond the Magazine’. It has been in the pipeline for the last two years so I cant wait to hear what people think of it.
♥ There have been a number of bloggers that have decided to launch a magazine, what makes it different to your blog?
Amma: Well people have long said that with the popularity of blogs increasing it will eventually cause the magazine to die out, but i honestly don’t think that’s true. As Boho said earlier its hard to read long text on a computer. It’s rather like the Kindle, its convenient to have it all in one place but it just isn’t the same as reading it on paper. So the magazine will be downloadable and will include longer features and articles that I wouldn’t necessarily put on the blog.
♥ We attended & had our very first wedding stall at Over Farm’s Vintage, Handmade, Bespoke & Unique Wedding Fair a couple of weeks ago and we found it difficult to advertise as a blog, how have you done that today?
Amma: Its hard to advertise as a blog as you aren’t necessarily trying to sell a service or product so I asked ‘The Little Wedding Helper’ to come and make the stall look all pretty for me.

Everyone knows how much we like a photobooth so when Kelly suggested we make use of Chris Barber’s photobooth whilst he was away we just knew we would get on like a house on fire!
(Many thanks to Chris Barber for the use of your props, as you can see when the cats away the mice will play 😉 )
A massive thank you to Kelly and Amma for looking after us and for taking the time to answer all our burning questions.
Much Bespoke Love
