The A-Z of The Blogcademy…
Weekends don’t often get better than the one i just had…inspiring people, an awesome atmosphere & plenty of glitter! That’s right! I headed up to London to attend The Blogcademy, it was time for me to get schooled by 3 ladies who knew how to kick some serious blogging ass!
Instead of going on and on about it though (which I seriously could) I thought I’d take you through the alphabetical journey of the blogcademy instead! Here’s everything that happened and what you can expect if you’re attending a future class!
Advice…
And tons if it! I am currently full to the brim with information and helpful tips!
Bunny Ears…
Sitting pretty in all their glory upon many a bloggers heads!

Cake…
Restoration Cake to be exact! And baby wasn’t the cupcakes they supplied good! I personally chose ‘Red Velvet’ flavour to tickle my taste buds!
Decorations…
I LOVED how Gala, Shauna & Kat had branded the room with their Blogcademy signature colours! Streamers were hanging, balloons were flying high and even the stripey straws were colour co-ordinated!

Exposure…
An essential part of taking awesome photos which we were taught about in our workshop by the very talented Lisa Devlin.
Friendship…
which was quickly made with lots of lovely ladies!

Goodie bags...
Filled with lots of glitter, jewellery and accessories! We were also given gorgeous little notepads and need I mention the phone cases?! I’ll say no more because I don’t want to ruin it for any future attendees…but they were AWESOME.

Headmistresses…
Who’s personalities shone just as bright in the flesh as they do on their ever amazing blogs!

Inspiration…
Let me tell you, it’s something you won’t be lacking throughout the weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so inspired being surrounded by such well driven women full of ideas, ambition and fun spirit!

Journey…
And I feel like i’m just starting mine, nothing happens over night and building a successful blog is about dedication and passion! I’m loving every moment on this journey so far!
Knowledge…
Plenty of which was dished out over the weekend! Topics were discussed that hadn’t even crossed my mind!

Lectures…
And not the boring type either! Gala, Shauna & Kat each took turns in taking us through blogging essentials and advice while we all took notes like crazy! (In our complimentary notebooks of course!)
Monetize…
Making money from your blog is a dream come true for most bloggers, we learnt that having ads in the sidebar isn’t the only way to generate an income. In fact, the possibilities and opportunities that can come from having a great blog was endless!
Networking…
There’s something fabulous about being in a room filled with people in the same position as you, it’s wonderful to be able to chat about your ideas and gather/give feedback! I came away with a ton of business cards and have subscribed to so many great blogs!

Offline Time…
We learnt that sometimes you just need to get away from your computer for a little inspiration, it even helps to turn off the internet, log off all social media sites and just lose yourself in writing.
Passion…
Which filled the room! A group of individuals all in love with what they do was something quite extraordinary.

Questions and Answers…
There was plenty of time to grill the leading ladies with any mind boggling queries bubbling away in your brain!
Report Cards…
The nerve racking yet extremely useful part! At the end of the two day workshop we all waited in anticipation until we were each handed an individual critique of what we were doing well on our blogs and what needed to be improved to take it to the level!

Social Media…
An essential step on the successful blog stairway. We learnt how to get more followers, best times to post, consistency in branding throughout all of our social sites and using the rule of thirds on Twitter!
Time well spent…
The most beneficial weekend of my life without a doubt! So much learnt and now so much to do!
Unbelievable…
In all honesty the entire weekend felt a little surreal, it was an experience I’d been hoping for ever since I heard the news of the New York blogcademy! It was a real dream come true!
Valuable…
Seriously guys, if you’re considering buying a ticket to one of the other workshops I strongly suggest you do so! Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced blogger, the knowledge that Kat, Gala & Shauna shared with us was extremely valuable to everyone. It was knowledge gained from so much experience in the industry and I cannot recommend going enough!
Weather…
A force of nature that couldn’t stop any of the determined bloggers getting to Shoreditch, London. Planes were delayed, trains were cancelled & the snow was doing it’s best to make a busy city disrupted, but to us optimistic bloggers the snow just made our pictures look pretty and wintery!
X-Citing…
Nope, that’s not cheating, it was that or xylophone and I’m sure nobody used one of those over the weekend! Well, who knows?! Either way, the entire experience was an X-tremely X-citing one!
Yummy snacks…
which were also provided throughout the day to keep us hungry bloggers at bay!
ZZZ…
Something I couldn’t get the night it was all over, my brain was going CRAZY with ideas! I had my notepad at the ready on my bedside table to capture those light bulb moments that kept going off throughout the night!
Special thank you to all of the incredible women that I met over the weekend! You’ve inspired me to the moon and back!
Much Bespoke Love
Jessica
