The Designer Vintage Bridal Show in Review…
The Designer Vintage Bridal Boutique refused to be beaten by the snow and despite the adverse conditions both the organisers and exhibitors soldiered on to hold one of their best shows yet. This time the boutique was to be held at the extravagant Birmingham Town Hall and was filled with lots of seriously cool vintage suppliers including Silver Sixpence in Her Shoe, Sarah Willard Couture, Zoe Lem, John Charlton Photography and Jolly Edition. Whats great about this show is that both the organisers and the exhibitors all have one thing in common – they wanted to inspire and advise brides-to-be who had a passion for a bygone era with a sense of quirky and originality.
Bespoke Bride was on the list of exhibitors attending the show, unfortunately due to adverse driving conditions and more bad weather forecast in the Forest of Dean that day our hopes of attending the show were dashed! Fortunately most of the other suppliers were able to make it despite the snowy conditions and not only that but hundreds of guests also made their way through the doors of the Designer Vintage Bridal Boutique.
Brides were able to listen to songs from the vintage era courtesy of Vintage 78 Dj’s, have trials with SGR Vintage hair & Make-up and have their picture taken in the Vintage Booth provided by Lee Garland. One of the exhibitors that got our ‘Bespoke Love’ was The Wedding Tree – think oak slabs on which your guests can write their messages of love and support, a perfect idea for a woodland wedding.
Here are what some of the exhibitors had to say about their day at the show… “When we found out the Designer Vintage Bridal Boutique was coming to our home town and to such a fabulous venue – Birmingham Town Hall – we knew we had to be there! On the day, we met so many lovely brides who had braved the snowy weather and heard about some amazing wedding plans. It was also great to help others with their plans by sharing images of their potential venues and ideas for their wedding photography. As usual our fellow exhibitors were a very friendly bunch and it was good to catch up with some familiar faces and make some new contacts.” – Kath, John Charlton Photography.
“The Designer Vintage Bridal is always a pleasure to be part of. This show is traditionally a two day autumn show, so when they approached me with their one day show in January at the town hall in Birmingham I jumped at the chance. The venue as always was stunning but the snowy weather was appalling and a real cause for concern, I really didn’t expect too many people to venture out but as the doors opened the crowds came in and I really didn’t stop all day. I think the sheer number of brides that braved the weather and came is a real testament to the success of the show. It’s a fantastic show for the discerning vintage bride.” – Annie, Tallulahs Trinkets.
