We’ve Re-Branded! More Colours, More Fun, More Us!

As some of you may know in January I attended a 2 day workshop called The Blogcademy, which can only be described as a blogging heaven full of advice from Gala, Shauna & Kat on taking your blog to it’s maximum potential. Blogging was broken down into bite size sections and the ladies covered everything from social media to finding inspiration and monetizing your blog. (You can read more about my fab time here!)

When it was time to talk about branding I was really interested in hearing what Shauna had to say. Me and Emily honestly thought the design of our blog was great for a bridal blog. How naive of us!! Once Shauna talked us through her design tips and brand audits we had to write down 3 things we wanted our blog to be described as. I wrote down fun, bright and colourful. I also wanted the design to look  ‘clean’ and professional.

Does this look fun, bright & colourful to you? Nope. Us neither. It looks traditional, slightly vintage and quite frankly, boring and that’s when it dawned on us, we’re a wedding blog that encourages fun and personality during your wedding day yet the design of Bespoke Bride did’n’t reflect mine or Emily’s personalities at all!

It was time for a change! I immediately made a Pinterest board where both of us could pin whatever we were drawn to , we didn’t want it to be all about weddings and so we were pinning styles of text we like, or colour combinations, images that inspired us or we loved, etc…and then eventually we started to see a pattern! The same bright colours were cropping up over and over again, similar fonts were being used and the whole board was starting to scream ‘us’.

Images like the two above were a constant attraction to us. We were clearly being drawn to geometric patterns, bold shapes, overlapping colours & most of all bright hues! Luckily for us we have a friend who is a graphic designer (and an amazing one at that!)  who we could call in for help! A few meetings later and it was decision time!

Sarah blew us away with the variety of designs she brought to the table and strangely enough the look we decided on was one she had only created hours before coming to to meet us!

As well as changing the look of Bespoke Bride we wanted to change the way we did things around here too! Everything is going to be far more personal, we want you to know who we are and will be expressing our opinions more often! Because believe it or not, me & Emily do not agree on everything!

You may have noticed a few ‘non-wedding’ things going on around here too, we figured when you pick up a fashion magazine you also get a whole bundle of other stuff thrown in the mix with it! Horoscopes, celebs, real stories, etc so why not get the same with a wedding magazine? Or in our case a wedding blog. You’ll notice us talking travel, creating a few home DIYs and even doing a spot of cooking! (ok…Emily’s doing the cooking because quite frankly I’m hopeless at it!) The idea is that while you’re planning your wedding you obviously still need to eat…and live…and how about your honeymoon? We’re branching out people and we’re loving every minute of it! But fret not! There will still be plenty of lovely real weddings to gawk at, tons of inspiration and not to mention wedding advice! We’ve still got your backs! 😉

There are a few more changes to make but we’d love to hear what you think of the re brand! Your thoughts as readers are always incredibly valuable to us and it’s a pleasure to hear your opinions!
