The Weddinspiration Event at Hyde Barn – The Review…
This year has certainly been the year of the wedding fair, with so many popping up all over it can be difficult to determine which are really worth going to and which to give a miss. Today we want to tell you about a wedding fair with a difference which took place on the 3rd March at Hyde Barn in the Cotswolds. The fair was named ‘Weddinspiration’ and didn’t offer something ‘alternative’ or ‘vintage’ as many wedding fairs now do. Instead it offered an experience, perfect for the DIY bride, with practical demonstrations and the chance to be involved in mini workshops, enabling newly engaged couples to come away with new experiences and inspiration.
The event was organised by Finesse Planning and The House of Bunting. Here is what Ruth (Finesse Planning) had to say and where the idea for a new interactive type of fair originally came from.
“I was approached by the lovely team at Hyde Barn after they had seen our creative ideas and styling of our Hunter and Water themed tables at a wedding networking event that was held at Hyde Barn late last year. They were looking for help to put on a wedding event that was interactive and was a departure from the usual style of wedding fair.
My business partner from my other business, House of Bunting and I set to work on developing ‘Weddinspiration’. We invited a selection of suppliers who we knew would provide the amount of interaction with visitors as well as being highly skilled in their fields allowing them to pass on their experience and knowledge to couples.
The idea of ‘Weddinspiration’ was for couples to walk away with more than just a price list but a true idea of how their wedding was going to look and how they could create it as well as finding excellent and trusted suppliers to help them with their visions. “
There were many different areas of planning a wedding for couples to explore, Pia from the Vanilla Pod bakery taught how to decorate cupcakes, Claire from Lilyfee Floral designs was creating boutonnieres and Kim from the House of Bunting made ribbon wands. Other activities included hair and makeup trials, floral arranging, and couples were shown how to make mood boards by Ruth herself.
Photographers Nikki from Nikki Kirk photography and Jonathan from Photoglow were in attendance taking these wonderful pictures as well as offering workshops on Engagement shoots and fun photobooths.
If you didn’t get the chance to visit the fair then don’t worry, videographer Dale Campbell was on hand to catch all the best hints and tips on the day…
So can we expect another Weddinspiration in the future? Well from the reaction of these suppliers, I’m guessing it will be a big fat YES!
“The Weddinspiration event at Hyde Barn was one of a kind and proved to be a huge success enabling brides and grooms to interact with wedding industry experts as well as seeing what we had on offer to help make their big day one of a kind! Would I do it again…? A great big YES!” – Nikki Kirk Photography
“The day was very interactive and fun giving brides a real hands on experience. Helping us to get to know them and what they would like for their dream day. Very positive experience and lots of exciting 2013/2014 designs have been booked from it.” – Laura – Cotswold Blooms
“Being able to display my wedding dresses and accessories in the beautiful room that Hyde Barn dedicates for the bride on her wedding day, made it very real for the brides-to-be, and ‘sealed the deal’ with one bride who had previously visited my bridal boutique!” Rachel -The White Collection Bridal Boutique.
Did you attend the Weddinspiration event? If you did we would love to know what you thought.
We will be sure to keep you posted on the next Weddinspiration event so keep those peepers peeled.
Much Bespoke Love

Finesse Planning organised such a lovely wedding event at the amazing Hyde Barn. For us as exhibitors, it was more than a wedding fair with a chance to be interactive with brides to be, creating a working storyboard with our accessories for them to see .Great event and we loved being part of it!
Thank you
