Beauty DIY: How To Paint Aztec Nails
I’ve got to be honest. I’m really not that great at painting nails! Considering i’m quite a creative and artistic person you would have thought it would come natural to me, but oh no, my hand is not a steady one when it gets close to my nails! The problem is, I love patterned nails, crazy nails, bright nails and above all, aztec nails. So what’s a girl to do? Well either fork out for a pro or just power through and go for it I say!
I know these look a little stodgy but not bad for a first attempt I feel? Here’s how I did it…
First of all you will need:
♥ 2 different colour nail varnishes
♥ Cotton buds & cotton pads (in case of emergency!)
♥ 1 Cocktail stick
♥ Sellotape (well I used sellotape because I had nothing else, but the proper nail guide stickers would be better!)
♥ A small plate
Ready? Let’s go..
Step 1: Paint all of your nails with your base colour and leave until completely dry!
Step 2: Using the sellotape or nail guide stickers form the shape of a triangle of your thumb
Step 3: Take your second colour and paint in the triangle gap!
Step 4: Wait until the second colour is completely dry and then carefully pull off the sellotape/nail guide stickers one side at a time.
Step 5: Repeat until you have completed your full hand
Step 6: Pour a little of the second colour onto your plate and drip the cocktail stick in it.
Step 7: Carefully dab the dots around your fourth finger and your thumb (you could of course dot it around all of them if you fancied!)
Step 8: Repeat all steps on the other hand (the tricky hand!), clean up any mistakes or splodges around the nails and you’re done! Not too bad was it?
Much Bespoke Love
