Off The Record: Awards and Adventures!!

I can’t believe I am saying this for a second weekend in a row but HAPPY SUNNY SUNDAY!! Can you believe this weather? It has been out of this world awesome!! I can’t get enough of it. I have had a few people commenting this week on how lucky I am to be self employed because I get to spend time in this sunshine but I am afraid that is not the case. Believe me, I have been dying to get out in the sun, but I have a little problem? I can’t see my laptop screen when I am outside! Anyone got any ideas on how to solve this little problem? Is there such thing as a laptop hood? So as other employed people this week I have been sat indoors staring longingly out of the window, dreaming of spending my days in the sun. Being self employed isn’t always as glamorous as it may seem.

As most of you know, Jess left this week for her three week holiday in Canada with her boyfriend James. She text me to let me know she handed landed safely on Wednesday evening and was spending the rest of the evening chilling at her families home. Since then she has already been on a little adventure to desert in the middle of nowhere and watched an ice hockey game. Jess will be keeping us updated on her travels via our Off the Record each week and if you follow us on Instagram you will see what she has been upto as well as keeping updated on what I have been doing whilst she is away.

What Emily Loves:

♥ I had a wardrobe clear out at the beginning of the week, it was wonderfully cathartic however my wardrobe is now very bare!

♥ Mr T is determined to visit the Philippines this year and has been planning our future trip to Palawan. He has been looking at the most wonderful hotel on a secluded island called the Apulit Island Resort, unfortunately I think it is a little out of price range at £4000 for two weeks and that is just the hotel!

♥ Have you seen this ‘Nature Love Letters’ on Design Love Fest? It is a project on Instagram by Emily Blincoe dedicated to making pretty things out of nature. A girl after my own heart! Follow Emily @thuglifeforevs

♥ Cinema dates to watch Monsters Inc University – I know I am meant to be a grown up but it appealed to the child in me and it was very funny!

♥ The love on Twitter this week has been phenomenal, take the time to send just one person a lovely comment and you could be really making their day. We had some lovely comments this week we only felt it fair to give them huge shout outs on the blog today so a huge thank you to Martina Capaddano from Photostories and Bree Ryback from Capitol Romance.

♥ As some of you will know I have started my own personal wildlife blog called ‘A Pocketful of Earth’. It is still in very early stages and its is nowhere near where I would like it to be, but for now I am enjoying having somewhere to share my love of the natural world. I posted about my trip to the Eden Project this week so head on over to read about the inspirational work that they do.

♥ Eating fresh Ravioli from one of the best food markets in the world! Yum!

♥ Seeing the CN tower for the first time! Its huuuuuuge!!

♥ Canadian Maple syrup!

♥ Thunder storms in the dark. We had one here in Canada the other night and it was so beautiful, (yet kind of scary!)

♥ Ice Hockey!! I had my first experience of watching a game on Thursday and it was awesome! Just the kind of skating they do is impressive!

♥ Getting a Toronto Blue Jays top for the baseball game next week. So excited to have that experience. Im totally going to buy a foam finger!!
