Off The Record: Meetups & Tweetups!
I have had such a fun filled week catching up with some lovely industry friends as well meeting lots of new. On Tuesday I met for lunch with Emily from Fishee Designs and Laura Power who was super excited to show us her brand spanking new website, which I have to say looks fab! That evening we attended the first ever welsh tweet up hosted by Gwen from Wedding blog, Gwen’s Bridal Bazaar.
I was so thankful to Emily and Laura for inviting me to go down with them as usually this is something me and Jess would attend together but with her still having the time of her life in Canada I felt a little bit nervous at the thought of going without her. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am so glad we come as a pair, it makes everything much much easier!
The tweet up was fantastic with people coming from all over Wales and Bristol to attend. It was good to have a chat with Gwen about all things blog as well as meeting Sarah, one of two writers behind another fab new welsh wedding blog Cwtch Bride. There was food, cocktails, music, magic and prizes all to be had on the night as well as getting to meet all the wonderful wedding suppliers of Wales.
Although nerve wracking to attend one of these these gatherings on your own, I cannot emphasize just how beneficial they are, especially if like me and Jess much of our work is from behind a laptop, its important to get and meet people and create relationships.
