Home DIY: How To Make Paint ‘Dipped’ Wooden Spoons, Spatulas & A Rolling Pin!
I’ve seen a few of these dipped wooden spoons around the net and keep wishing I could have some! I keep thinking ‘I’ll get myself some of those one day!’ Well that day. Is today. And let me tell ya it couldn’t be more easy!
All you’ll need is the wooden utensils (mine were 50p each from Asda!), some masking tape, a paint brush & some craft paint! Ready to rock and roll?
Let’s do this!
Step 1: Apply masking tape very tightly around the spoons, you want to make sure there are no gaps between the tape and spoons to ensure no paint will creep through and ruin your straight lines!
Step 2: The fun part, get painting!
Step 3: Leave to dry and then add a second coat of paint to create a real pop of colour!
Step 4: Once the paint is completely and 100% dry carefully remove the masking tape.
Step 5: Admire your new set of wooden utensils!
How cute are they?! I’m so glad I finally got around to making myself these! Now I’m feeling a little bit addicted to the colour dipped look…think I may just have to do this to the bowls!
Much Bespoke love

Thank you for this easy diy.
Hello I was just wondering how well they hold up? Can you wash them and are they dishwasher safe?
Did you just use acrylic craft paint?
Thanks
Nicole
Hi Nicole
As we used Acrylic, we have only ever used ours for decor so I would not advise putting them in a dishwasher.

Hi there, what paint would I use if I wanted to make these dishwasher safe? Thank you
Hi Tracey
You would probably be best using an enamel paint just check the brand you buy is dishwasher safe in the manufacturer’s instructions
