Rachel Burgess Bridal Boutique, The Start Collection – ‘Helen’
If you know us well then you will know that we love having a little nose at new bridal collections especially when they have some fabulously styled photographs to boot.
This morning we are not only reminding you of collections already in stock at the Rachel Burgess Bridal Boutique, we also get to share with the brand new ‘lets go to the country collection’, with sexy backless dresses and soft lace in warm tones. We particularly love the boutiques ethos which is to encourage brides to be who they are, help their personality shine through their dress choice and not just choose what magazines tell them to.
Here is what Rachel had to say about the collections…
‘The Start’
It was important to me that the first collection made that statement and made it boldly. I’m extremely lucky to have been able to work with Helen Rhiannon (an award winning Welsh designer). From the very first sketch I saw of her first collection, I knew we were both singing from the same hymn sheet! Her dresses are all about interesting details, quirky touches and dresses that can show off a bride’s figure without having to reveal much flesh. For the first photo shoot we created an image which I believe represents the Boutique perfectly – the lovely ‘Helen’ (named after the designer herself) complimented with red underskirts, boots and sunglasses and rock star hair – my kind of bride!

‘Lets Get Grunge’
As soon as I saw the sketches for the second collection, I knew I wanted to photograph the finished products in a location that was the polar opposite to the dresses. As the collection is possibly the most delicate and traditionally feminine that Helen has created so far, I chose a workshop setting! I want to give brides confidence to choose even the most feminine dress and mix it up with bold hair, unusual accessories and striking mark up. Not to mention feeling able to wear it in any setting – even astride a motorbike or with welding going on nearby! Helen used a gorgeous mix of fabrics; the different laces in satin, ivory and porcelain shades are my favourite element of this collection. As well as Helen’s designs, this shoot featured a few cheeky little vintage numbers.

‘Lets Go To The Country’
This collection showcases six original Helen Rhiannon designs – the most so far. I’d tell you my favourite but I love them all. For these dresses, Helen worked with the idea that during any wedding ceremony most, if not all, of the congregation will be looking at the back of a bride. This collection’s dresses have a ‘Wow!’ impact from the front and the back. As you can see for yourself, she has definitely brought ‘sexy back’! Most of the dresses are made from soft lace in warm tones, though ‘Lorelei’ is channeling Audrey Hepburn; a dramatic column dress with fabulous black bow detailing. Heavenly! We wanted to show that alternative designs can still be gentle and delicate can still be fun.
