Wedding DIY: How To Make Distressed Geometric Love Letters
You got me. I’m a sucker for geometric patterns. On cushions, on accessories, on cakes and yep…you guessed it….on typography. Which is especially why I love these geometric love letters we created oh so much! These would be perfect as part of your wedding decor don’t you think? And what’s best is they are super easy to make!
You will need: White spray paint / Yellow spray paint / Grey spray paint / Black spray paint / Masking Tape / Letters (mine were from Hobby Craft) / Scissors /
Step 1: Pray paint all of your letters white! (Best to do this outside!) Once the white paint has dried, spray paint over the top in your bright yellow colour!
Step 2: Get going with your masking tape, start sticking it in all different directions and patterns, let your creativity go wild! The only important thing here is to make sure the tape is as stuck down as possible! You don’t want any paint getting underneath!
Step 3: Take your taped up letters outside then spray paint all over them with your grey paint and leave to fully dry.
Step 4: Start to peel away your tape bit by bit, being careful as you do this.
Step 5: Repeat on all letters and admire how pretty they look! You’re not finished yet though…well unless, you don’t want to add black, in which case, you could be finished if you wanted to!
Step 6: Get that masking tape out again and repeat step 2!
Step 7: Spray paint all of your letters with the black paint and leave to dry.
Step 8: Finally, peel away the masking tape off your letters. Yay! You’re done! You’ve created some pretty awesome geometric love letters right there!
These would be so cute to display at your wedding by your guest book or just as part of the decor!
