Fun & Chic Stationery from Style & Joy + 10% discount!!!
The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that we have had a new sponsor in our midst since November. We were introduced to Style and Joy through the powers of Twitter just before christmas and we instantly fell in love! Quite frankly the stationery is awesome and Miranda who is the founder, is one of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure of working with. Although we are still yet to meet, I know we would be an instant hit, as we share a similar sense of humour.
Anyway enough of our impending womance I would like to introduce you to Miranda from Style and Joy…
When did you become interested in designing stationery?
“My love for all things arty & crafty began when I was very young. Ever since I was little, I think I always knew I wanted to do something creative; to design & make. My education and training has always been design & art based, including my design degree in Silversmithing & Jewellery. For a number of years after that I worked as an independent contemporary jewellery designer/maker, selling my wares to wonderful galleries and shops up and down the country (whilst working in a few too!) as well as exhibiting at various shows and selling directly online. I guess the turning point between jewellery & stationery began on Christmas day in 2010 when my boyfriend proposed, and I became immersed and excited in the joy and creative possibilities that weddings had to offer.
We had a very DIY village hall do, amongst other things I’d made all the stationery, favours & details and loved it. Friends & family were so complimentary (a bit biased maybe?!) that it boosted my confidence that this new idea of designing wedding stationery could be a possibility. Fortunately I had plenty of valuable experience of working for myself & running a little creative business to draw on. My jewellery making was still on the go, but a struggle to find suitable workshop space combined with plans to move after we got married made it seem the perfect time to try something new. Ideas & scribbles turned into actual designs, the designs turned into paper prettiness… hello Style & Joy!”
What do you offer to your clients?
“I offer a friendly, helpful & personal service, I don’t just design and create the stationery, I’m also responsible for everything else in between; from the first to last email, to taking your parcel of fabulous stationery to the post office, it’s all me.
There are currently three complete stationery collections available, as well as the new range ‘All you need is love’ which is getting ready to be added to the website as we speak! Within each collection there’s a complete range of co-ordinating items from Save the Dates to Thank You cards. The designs are versatile and work with many different styles, from the fun and modern to chic and sophisticated. So whether you’re celebrating in a modern boutique hotel or a rustic outdoor fete, there’s something to fit perfectly.
I’m always working on new designs & items, including some cute favour packaging at the moment – so watch this space!”
What makes you different?
“My designs are individual, distinctive and original, whilst still being stylish and attractive. I’ve worked really hard to create a truly original yet functional product in the ‘Button Invitation Suite’, which I create individually by hand. I think with most of the collections there’s an emphasis on breaking with formality a little bit and injecting personality into your stationery, and therefore your big day itself. I have also listed items separately in the online shop, so if you just need some Thank You cards it’s no problem, your order will be treated with as much care & love as a larger order for a complete collection.”
Why are you perfect for our readers?
“The internet is a vast, yet wonderful resource and we’re so lucky now here in the UK to have blogs such as yours to inspire couples for their big day! I’ve noticed a change even in the few years since I was planning my wedding, that the industry is positively changing because of champions like Bespoke Bride and there’s a new sense of freedom, excitement & creativity when it comes to wedding styles and planning.
My little business fits into that mind-set & ethos perfectly – your readers are all about the different, the quirky, the individual, the bright, the chic, the bold, the pretty, the fun, the relaxed, the stylish, the beautiful… and so am I. It’s an exciting time in wedding land, and I am so happy and fortunate to be a part of it.”
Right so I’m guessing by now you have pretty much fallen head over heels with this gorgeous stationery and are wondering how you can get your mitts on them. I know I am and I’m not even getting married. Well here is the good news Miranda is offering all Bespoke Bride readers 10% off in her online store using the discount code BESPOKEBRIDE and is available until the end of APRIL 2014 – See I told you she was awesome!
So what are you waiting for, get on over there!!
Much Bespoke Love
