Off The Record: Cakes, Cooking & Catching Up With Friends!

Ever dreamed you could spend a whole day in a beautiful hotel, eating and decorating cakes and being spoilt with high tea?? Us too…And yesterday our dream came too! We spent an entire morning and afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel in London with GC Couture and some seriously awesome wedding industry lovelies getting our cake on! We were so happy to finally meet Jess from Storyboard Weddings (all the way from New York people!) and Sarah from Juno and Joy (formerly Boho Bride) and I think it’s fair to say we were all so happy to be a part of the day! We filmed pretty much the whole thing too so keep your eyes peeled for our little video of the day that we’ll be sharing with you soon…For now, here’s what else we’ve been loving this week…

Jess Loves…

♥ Having a family movie night! Me, James, my sister, her boyfriend and my mum and dad all got together on Friday night to watch Rush, I love that film so much! And I also love eating popcorn!

♥ Being a blogger. Seriously, I absolutely love the opportunities and people that blogging has brought into my life! There is never a boring day!

♥ Making up recipes by throwing everything together that’s in the kitchen! On Thursday I made an italian meat, spinach, sun dried tomato pesto and olive pasta! It was yummy, but was definitely missing something! Need to get more in tune with my taste buds…or you know…just stick to the recipe books…

♥ Helping James out with his blog, him and his brother started a betting tips blog about 6 months a go and on Tuesday we rebranded the whole thing! I helped with the graphics and James chose his theme, I went to bed at half 12 though and he was still up at half5 tweaking it! Ever the perfectionist that crazy boy!

♥ Red roses. With valentines day just around the corner I’m seeing them in all the shops and I love it!

Emily Loves…

♥ Beating my first run time by 1 minute. I can now do a what should be a 10 minute run in 19 minutes! Only 9 more minutes to shave of that time before I am a pro! (don’t laugh!)

♥ Watching Life of Pi! I know, I know, I must have been hiding under a rock but in all honesty I have been avoiding watching it. Films like that really mess with my head. First I am super sensitive to anything that involves sad things happening to animals and people. Second my biggest questions about life revolve around religion and science so it is safe to say I spent the next few days questioning the whole film and its real meaning. If you haven’t watched it yet, you really must, but be warned its a thinker!

♥ Catching up with my best friend in Sweden. Even though there were only a couple of quick messages back forth whilst she was in the middle of her travels. I was so excited hear from her on her birthday, where she told me the most amazing news that she had now been made Marine Site Manager on a conservation project in Madagascar. I am so proud of her, she has worked so hard and deserves all the good things that are happening to her!

♥ Meeting with other bloggers and sharing our own blogging experiences. Seriously it’s so nice to share stories with people in the same boat as you, it is so reassuring knowing you aren’t the only one.

♥ Being treated to Toby Carvery by the Wonderful Mr T – he knows how to spoil me!
