Meet Lumière Photography!
Don’t you just love it when you get to know more about the people and businesses behind those lovely ads in our sidebar? We sure do and today we’re catching up with the lovely Alix from Lumière Photography! Alix is a fairly new sponsor to Bespoke Bride so everyone please give her a warm welcome and lots of big waves! Here’s your chance to know more about the French flared photographer who’s tagline couldn’t be more true: La vie est belle: life is beautiful…
Hey Alix, how’s everything with you at the moment? All settled into 2014 nicely?
Yes! I’ve been using the quieter months to better my website and get in touch with blogs who fit my style. I finally got the hang of Twitter and other tools too! One thing I love in my job is the unpredictability of it, I’m ready for new adventures..
Tell our readers a little bit about yourself….
I am a French photographer (with 3 Italian grandparents) married to a Gujarati man and based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. I came to the UK for a year.. 25 years ago. I still miss France – the light, the sea, the food, my family and friends- and visit when I can.
I photograph all kinds of weddings and ceremonies in the UK and Europe, from a Mosque wedding to a Pagan handfasting, a same sex marriage to an Evangelical Church service. I enjoy how unique every ceremony is and the diversity of my work. It’s full of surprises!
If you could describe your photography style in 3 words, what would they be?
Warm, emotional, celebrational- is that a word? My tag line is La vie est belle: life is beautiful
What do you offer to future couples looking for a photographer??
Friendliness, flexibility, a fresh, French flair. I am dedicated to my couples, to do what’s best for them. I usually keep in touch and develop good friendships- I’ve just been to one of my brides’ baby shower! I do this because I care about the people as well as the photos. For me it’s linked, otherwise I’d be objectifying people.
What makes you unique as a photographer?
I guess my personality, I don’t fit in a box, I am French from Italian grandparents, my husband is Asian, we travel, we host people from all over the world, I speak different languages, I am genuinely curious and interested in people. I love how each couple make their wedding unique and that’s what I want to celebrate.
Why are you just what Bespoke Bride readers are looking for?
I bring both a lot of experience of weddings and various ways of celebrating from different cultures and traditions to the table so I can help with planning, vendors, ideas etc. I am very relaxed and approachable, but I don’t stop when I am working, I give it my all until my clients are happy. I love everything unique, special and personal!
That’s the best way to be we say! Last of all, what’s new Alix? Do you have any exciting projects in the pipeline??
Last September I had a wedding in Morocco, this year I hope to expand my horizons even further. Right now I’m planning family holidays, because my kids are precious too and when I get booked up, we go without- I had a wedding on New Year’s eve last year so this year we’ll go abroad- Belize I think!
Ooh Belize sounds dreamy doesn’t it! Just as dreamy as all of the beautiful weddings that Alix has photographed from so many different cultures and traditions! We completely agree that it gives her that extra something special! You can keep up to date with Lumière Photography on Facebook and Twitter or drop Alix an email here!
Much Bespoke Love
