Off the Record: Sunshine, Sale Shopping & Small Acts of Kindness

Can you believe it is March already? For the first couple of days of Spring the weather hasn’t been too shabby either. Yesterday I had big plans to pull an all dayer working on the blog, but the sun was out and after a long winter in hibernation I felt like I owed it to my body to see some sunshine, so I spent the afternoon in the garden Spray painting my dining room table and chairs and I loved every single second of it.
I have everything crossed that this weather will stick around for a little while, I think we could all do with it…

♥ My awesome business partner – Jess. She is just the cutest. I came home Thursday after spending the whole day with her to find that she had somehow secretly managed to plant a card in my kitchen without me even noticing, thanking me for all I had done. That small act of kindness literally had me in floods of tears. It really is surprising just how a small thank you can really make you feel so much more appreciated and loved.
♥ Filming our latest Youtube video, I can’t give too much away but it involved drinking cocktails at 1pm in the afternoon on a Friday! Days like that make me so thankful for my amazing job!
♥ Sale shopping! Being a student for many years meant that I became quite stingy with my money as I had to watch every single penny. I am not a girl that will go shopping very often, in fact I haven’t been on a proper shopping trip for well over 5 years now but this week I allowed myself a little treat and did a little online sale spree, and it felt gooooood!!
♥ Getting a hair makeover. Up until last week I had been letting my hair grow out for about 7 or 8 years so you can imagine everyone’s surprise when I finally decided I was ready for the chop. I took the plunge and I have to say I couldn’t be happier! It looks healthier, has more volume and just makes me feel way more grown up.
♥ Facials! We were invited to join a salon and spa open day this week at Gloscol College in the Forest Of Dean where we could indulge in a couple of free treatments so naturally I jumped at the chance to have a facial. I desperately needed some of those dead skin cells removing after all the damage done over the winter, cold weather, central heating and lack of sun all take their toll on your skin. I emerged from this week a totally new woman, new skin, hair, clothes, I feel like a butterfly!

♥ Cocktails! As Emily mentioned our new YouTube video involves them, and luckily for me Emily used to be a bartender so she knows her way around some delicious cocktail recipes!! These are no ordinary cocktails that will be coming soon though…
♥ Being pampered for the day. Emily had a facial and I decided to have a manicure at Gloscol, my nails seriously needed it! Then afterwards we both had a conditioning hair treatment which was LUSH. I absolutely love someone else washing my hair and then blow drying it, I find it so relaxing! Plus my hair felt lovely and soft afterwards which was a big bonus!
♥ Watching Thor: The Dark World. Just when I thought he couldn’t get any sexier Thor knocks it out the park! Quite literally. With that big sexy hammer of his.
♥ Editing our DIY for next week, we’ll be bringing it you in video format this time and it involves something unique and bespoke and all taught by the beautiful Sophie from Crown & Glory! You’ll also be in with the chance to win what Sophie creates in this tutorial so keep your eyes peeled for how to enter on Tuesday!
♥ Getting excited for London tomorrow!! We’ll be attending Mr & Mrs Smith’s Honeymoon event and we can’t wait to hear about the awesome services they offer! And of course…enjoy the canapés!
♥ Watching Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, I know, I know, It’s not the coolest thing in the world to admit to liking on the internet BUT it’s a seriously awesome show! This week they helped someone propose and I was in tears watching it, it was just, brilliant!

Lastly, it wouldn’t feel right ending todays post without acknowledging the the tragic death of Jo. It has been terribly sad hearing of her passing. Her friend Kat has written a very loving and fitting piece for her over on Rock N Roll Bride. For anyone dealing with loss or depression and are trying to find the strength to cope then this is for you.
Much Bespoke Love
