I am incredibly thrilled to share these amazing boudoir images with you today courtesy of one our fabulous suppliers Kerrie Mitchell. We have never shared a boudoir shoot on these pages, not because we haven’t wanted to or don’t agree with it, just because it is very rare that we see one that celebrates a woman’s individuality and personality. However that is all beginning to change thanks to the likes of super talented photographers like Kerrie Mitchell and her team of professionals who want to change the world of boudoir…
“Boudoir should be about more than just having photos taken in your underwear to impress a certain someone. It should be about celebrating who you are, and how you look. After all we’re only ever given one life and one body, being happy inside it is of the most utmost importance!. It’s often the case in the lead up to your wedding you may be trying to lose weight, tone up, improve your skin etc etc but lets all stop for a moment and just really appreciate what we have and how we look. No one in this entire world is perfect, we all have our body hang-ups and worries but I will guarantee you that it’s all in your head. We all see something in ourselves that we dislike, but to an outsider it’s usually a feature they haven’t noticed, or even likely to be something that makes you, you to them!
That’s why I started to take boudoir photos, it’s time we learned to love ourselves. So rather than insisting you come along in stockings and fish net tights practising your best sultry look, I prefer you to come along expecting a day of pampering and just tons of fun. My boudoir shoots take place in my home, where my puppy is on hand for plenty of puppy cuddles and we’ll even have some breakfast waiting for you. Then you’ll start your transformation with my team of professionals. Amanda and Louise would have been in touch before your shoot to discuss the looks you would like to achieve with your hair and make-up and will be on hand throughout the shoot to tweak, touch-up and change your look to match each outfit we photograph. Once you’re looking gorgeous Charlotte will work with the clothing choices you brought along and items we have available to create the most beautifully put together outfits. She even styles our sets and makes sure everything is perfect as I shoot. She’ll be the one moving stray hairs, and tucking in labels! As well as suggesting posing tweaks to really accentuate your best features.
After the shoot, you’ll be feeling incredible, so I always suggest you head out with your hubby to be for a nice meal or a night at the theatre, or plan a fun night out with the girls. After a week you’ll be sent a link to access your boudoir photo proofs and will be blown away by just how amazing you truly do look.”
I have to say it is so refreshing to see a boudoir shoot that is playful and fun rather, than seeing a woman whose body has been manipulated into positions that meet certain desires. Agreed! Boudoir shoots should 100% be for you yourself. To remind yourself how super fabulous you are and get objectivity about your own beauty. Love these so much. It’s making me want to sort out the state of my PJs and get some killer bedroom outfits. Great post xx
