A Pretty Blush Pink & Shabby Chic Styled Shoot!
Oh my goodness! There’s so much pretty in this shoot I can barely contain myself! When photographer Ilaria Petrucci had the vision of creating a dreamy, feminine, elegant and just beautiful styled shoot to inspire real brides who want to make a statement whilst keeping it romantic, I wonder if she imagined the results to be so lovely? I think the team absolutely nailed it! Prepare to drift off into a dream of pretty pops of pink…
Words photographer, Ilaria Petrucci…
I was thrilled to photograph this stunning Blush Pink Shabby Chic style shoot and to work with these amazing suppliers was not only a great pleasure but also so much fun! I am always inspired by eclectic and contrasting combinations. I love all things chic and vintage and when you add some blush pink to this recipe the result looks something like these images.I wanted the attention to detail to be priority, I love details! I LOVE details! From the make up, the hair, the flowers, the styling, the dresses, the cake, the venue…I wanted it all to be dreamy, feminine, elegant and just beautiful in its simplicity. Because beauty is in the simple things.
I wanted to create simple but effective inspirations for real brides who want to make a statement whilst keeping it romantic and soft. A little bit of the best from both worlds.
Words from makeup artist, Mel Kinsman…
Firstly, I was honoured to be asked by Ilaria to work on the shoot as I know her photography is super feminine and would show the makeup to perfection. When she said it would be a Blush inspired colour scheme the ‘Swoon-o-meter’ in my mind went into overdrive. Recently there have been trends veering into the slightly more candy colours and this year’s striking Pantone of Radiant Orchid will be all over the place and many of my brides are going for it. I love the subtlety of softer colours as they suit many ‘Real Brides’ who are afraid of stronger colours, but they needn’t be boring. I chose to compliment the milky pale tone of Sophie, the model’s, skin with soft hues of Blush on the lips, eyes and cheeks whilst making her brows and lashes stronger with a retro slick of eyeliner when we photographed the 50’s inspired dress.
