We asked photographer Sarah to tell us more…
“Dee, Kelly and I are three friends who have each struck out in our own individual businesses over the last 2 years. Dee is a beautician and make-up artist, Kelly designs and handcrafts jewellery and other accessories and I am a wedding and portrait photographer. We decided to plan a styled shoot this year with the aim of collaborating our various talents along with some other local small businesses run by women.
We created this shoot with a 1920’s theme leaning more towards the English aspect rather than American “roaring 20’s”, which is where the seaside came in – it being a huge part of our English culture. It was important to us all that we kept the shoot simple so that our ideas could be considered achievable by anyone wanting to create a similar look so we used the bare minimum of props. It was also important to us that our model was a “normal” girl so we held a competition on Facebook in March in search of our “bride”. Lilly was our winner and she won a full makeover from Dee, jewellery from Kelly and images and prints from me as part of her prize. I think you’ll agree she is a beautiful girl!”
