Charming Gold, Pink & Maroon Wedding Ideas
One of my favourite things about this time of year has got to be the abundance of luxurious rich colours that can be found all about in nature, such as deep red berries on the bushes, burnt orange leaves and the low golden winter sun. Todays shoot rather reminds me of those things featuring pretty pink and maroon flowers, deep red fruits and the most amazing golden reception dress, which I totally need to add to my christmas wish list!! I think you will agree that it is a stunner!!
Laura, Captured In His Image Photography: A hazy, warm Saturday in August marked the culmination of dreams, plans and visions of three Tampa Bay Wedding Industry Professionals. The idea? To tell a story, feature our city, bless a real-life married couple, and bring to life elements of our work and art in ways neither of us ever had before.
The afternoon was calm yet hurried, reminiscent of a real wedding day and full of excited energy. We gathered in the heart of Tampa’s Historic District, Seminole Heights. The captured in His image “cottage” transformed into a makeup/hair studio for Makeup by Emily Ann while the Lemon Drop Team set-up on the lawn of historic Hillsborough High School. The historic brick roads served as inspiration for time gone by, an integral element of the styled vision.
Janell, our bride, stepped back into her perfect wedding dress, which she’d worn to say “I Do” just 11 months before . Her husband David stood by, slipping on a new navy suit jacket and leather banded Fossil watch. Nodes of their “real” day were also present: the humid Florida air that threatened to pour at any moment, hues of a pink and maroon color palette, and a love that was ready to withstand the test of time.
Nuances, however, were also introduced: a to-die-for cocktail dress to wear for the “reception”, a beautiful table set just for two and florals, draperies and candles that stopped traffic along Hillsborough Avenue. Hints of real crystal pieces and old books represent the importance of family, legacy, history and tradition. The wedding industry has so many old elements that have been lost in today’s trends but our hope is to revive some of the beautiful elements that used to be defining of a wedding day. The location was also special. Hillsborough High school is a central feature in Seminole Heights and is one of the oldest high schools in the southern United States. Built in 1911, you can see why we chose to feature this majestic lawn and building as the backdrop for both the session and the bridal portraits.
The evening ended as the sun hung low over Hillsborough Avenue, the main thoroughfare through Seminole Heights. Just as a couple leaving their reception, these two danced off into makeshift moonlight feeling like they’d been married all over again.
Tampa Bay, you are beautiful. Seminole Heights, your character is unmatched. The South, your charm always inspires.
