A MODERN GEOMETRIC TWIST ON 60’S STYLE!
Who doesn’t love to see an old fashioned favourite brought back to life for a second time around? Although I love absolutely everything about the 60’s, I was quite excited to see what these guys had done to update one of my all time favourite eras. Cue pops of colours, bold geometric shapes, short wedding dresses and lots of modern furniture and bang the 60’s has become even more awesome. Check it out!
We asked photographer Marissa Cribbs to tell us about the inspiration behind the shoot…. “I have been particularly inspired by the 60’s styles lately with geometric designs, vintage place settings, and interesting color combinations. Sometimes, looking to styles in the past can be incredibly inspiring for the future. Today’s bride can be inspired by the geometric designs, the bold pops of color, and gorgeous gown silhouettes and beautiful fabric selections.
The gold geometric shapes and retro feel of the vases represents a very modern and clean look for today. Another style trend to watch is vintage place settings and other vintage inspired pieces. These are already so popular for weddings today, and were a large piece of our place settings at our styled shoot to really create a 60’s look. The colors in this styled shoot are bold which is an inspiring twist on the subtle tones that were so popular in 2014. The mod-inspired silhouette of the dresses will leave a lasting impression for today’s bride in the gorgeous gold and lace fabrics.
Most of all, we wanted to do something a little out of the box to inspire brides to do something unique and different that hasn’t necessarily been done before. The airstream in the photo shoot is an actual airstream that can be rented for the guys to get ready in or to set up a photo booth in at weddings today. Today’s bride can be inspired by much of the same styles and silhouettes from the 60’s while adding a modern twist on an incredible piece of style history.”
