A VALENTINES BRUNCH WITH STRAWBERRY COCONUT BUTTER & COCKTAILS
Prepare yourselves…I’m about to throw a whole lot of pretty at you and with Valentines day just around the corner there couldn’t be a better time to feature such a beautiful brunch! Even though this shoot wasn’t specifically designed for a bridal shower we couldn’t help but fall in love with the idea that it could have been so be sure to read through to the end to find out how you can apply this styling to your own girlie day! If you love waffles, cocktails and strawberries then this one is for you my friend!
“When you end up with friends who have homes with years of design investment you get overly excited when they will let you take over their dining room for a Valentine’s brunch centered around friendship. Sometimes many of those around us just need to be reminded that they are amazing. This table is about spreading that feeling to others on a holiday that is traditionally celebrated between couples and may leave some without a reason to celebrate. We decided on a simple elegant take on the traditional pink and red. We used layers of leather, soft tulle, and glass to accentuate the antique hand scraped table.
We wanted this to be a relaxed “pour your own cocktail” kind of gathering and decided waffles would be the order of the day. We made a special strawberry coconut butter for topping, and added citrus based cocktails to the menu. The divine White Forest Gateau from La Patisserie Chouquette had layers of almond cake with dark cherry and citrus gelee topped with cherry yogurt mousse.
Pepper the scruffy puppy wanted to lounge as close as possible to the event so we adorned her with a bow in just the right shade of pink. Her childlike excitement was felt by everyone and added a touch of fun to conversation. In the sitting room near the table we placed a handmade Marquee sign to add that extra pop of whimsy and remind us that love is at the center of it all.”
HOW TO APPLY THIS TO YOUR OWN BRIDAL SHOWER…
If you wanted to apply a love/valentines theme to your girlie day then one of the easiest ways to do so is to bring in the colours pink and red wherever you can! You can see in this shoot the team used red cutlery, balloons and even created cocktails with pink and red hues! They’ve also added touches of pastel pink by placing elegant candles on the table, pretty pastel flowers and even a pink vase. If you wanted to, you could even set the dress code to a pink theme, how cute would that be?!
