MARIE ANTOINETTE GOES PUNK!!!
So I pretty much have the biggest crush on today’s shoot! It could be because it features the most swoon-worthy blush pink dress that I have ever seen, or maybe because it contains a enough pink to make Barbie jealous and lets not forget all the glitter! Oh the glitter!!!
Enjoy!
Keen to translate their style into a Marie Antoinette style shoot with a twist, Vicki of VM Hairstyling and Gail of Mi-tempo incorporated a couture edge, with lots of pastel pink and lilac, topped with glitter. Hair and makeup was inspired by Brigitte Bardot meets Marie Antoinette and Prima ballerina meets 1930s chic, whilst the dresses included a gorgeous big blush style and later a slim gold lace dress with hand painted bodice. The handcrafted bridal accessories were chosen for their unique style and really bought everything together.
Stylist Mad Philomena explored an eccentric look with all things feminine in sugar plum tones with hints of lavender and hand dipped fabrics, whilst giving it a punky twist with a rebellious side. Sparkle was a key element with glittered words, golden creatures and candlesticks and glittered edible doughnuts.
If you were looking to achieve this look for your wedding day why not explore with invitation design, and edible treats, or use dipped fabrics for your top table or as a cake table backdrop. Gold spray is also a great tool in transforming plain looking objects into objects of desire. Paint up a few vintage trinkets or dishes and contrast them against strong colours.
