Bright Lights and Big Rides: How to Plan a Luna Park Wedding That’s Full of Colour and Fun!

Inspired by the cosmos, bold colours and geometric angles this slightly futuristic editorial is chic, stylish and super modern!
“Starting with a vision of a modern bride with dip-dyed purple hair and her dapper beau, I wanted to create a slightly futuristic wedding shoot, with bold colors and geometric angles” Creative director, Margaux told us.
“I wanted to ensure that ‘Cosmic’ and ‘Galactic’ were translated for this shoot as chic stylish, not over-the-top or garish. Due to this, I decided to stay pretty light on the accessories and the style of the dress. Simple geometric accessories and a sleek bodycon number from TopShop allowed our cosmic bride’s beauty to shine as well, instead of overpowering her” She continued.
Amanda Habbershaw designed an invitation suite of overlapping triangles and hexagons in purples, teals, and blues. Included in the suite design was a ‘Tech’ Info Card with the couple’s’ social media info, along with an iPad version of the invite itself! “I loved the pattern she created so much I made a string art photo backdrop that mimicked it” added Margaux.
“I approached our florist with the crazy idea of ‘centerpieces encased in geometric ‘cages’, with flowers sticking out’? Thankfully, she loved the idea and she was able to create an amazing floral design with geometric succulents, bold purples and sweet pink influences.”
Margaux’s ‘out of the box thinking’ allows her to take objects you wouldn’t necessarily think of and incorporate them into the events she designs. “Hologram table runners, spray painted geometric toys, 3-D table numbers and hanging mobiles decorated the space creating some truly unique design elements. The centerpiece ‘cages’ were actually wooden dowels that were cut and glued together in abstract shapes and then spray painted.”
Pairing this with the open, loft-style venue Lot 613 here in Downtown Los Angeles was the perfect marriage of old-meets-new.
