WHEN ASTRONOMICAL MEETS INDUSTRIAL CHIC
If you’re a fan of modern weddings and mixed metallics then I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that you’re going to love today’s styled shoot! I absolutely adore the geometric touches and celestial elements that tie in the theme! And don’t even get me started on those astronomical invitations! They are beyond beautiful!
WORDS FROM NICOLE GEORGE EVENTS…
“This astronomical-meets-industrial styled shoot stemmed from our interpretation of balancing intimacy in a raw and unexplored atmosphere. We wanted to create a celestial inspiration shoot for the modern couple that was colorful and unique without feeling contrived. Historic Copley Alley at San Diego’s Horton Grand Hotel provided the perfect raw and historic setting, allowing us to play up the mysterious antiquity of location. By mysterious, we mean you wouldn’t even know that it was there if you walked by! Adding celestial pops enhanced the sense of the unexplored while the use of metallics and raw materials, such as gold-rimmed dinnerware and exposed wooden tables, keeping the shoot a bit more modern. To add spontaneity without being too predictable, we used a range of blue hues, meandering floral arrangements, and edgy jewelry which is key for modern couples who are looking to make their wedding stand out. The calligraphy on butcher paper ceremony backdrop and matching table runners as well as the Victorian chairs and sofa give the shoot just a touch of formality without feeling too reserved. Katie Beverley Photography’s light and airy style captured the soft and romantic intimacy amidst the masculinity of the alley, creating the perfect contrast we were going for.”
