HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN PRETTY PASTEL HOT CHOCOLATE BAR!
I don’t know about you but hot chocolate is a key ingredient in my festive feeling check list! I absolutely love curling up with a mug of coco in front of the fire. If you wanted to kick this winter tradition up a notch though then why not create your own hot chocolate bar?! Complete with metallic details, pastel pine cones & plenty of sugary treats, here’s how we made ours….
THE STYLE…
I’ve absolutely fallen in love with metallics this season and Oliver Bonas has fulfilled all of my metallic dreams! I love how classy the gold & bronze tones look when teamed together with pretty pastels & they really add that glitzy, Christmas vibe I feel! You can find the items we used in the shoot below…
Beatrix Teacups // Mixed Metallic Teaspoons // Medium Copper Pleat Metallic Vase // Mixed Metals Pinch Pot & Tray Set //
THE PINECONES…
I took a lovely woodland walk to find these pine cones then dried and opened them up in the oven. You’ll need to line a baking tray with tin foil and space your pine cones evenly out on the tray. Next cover the tray with tin foil and pop in a fan oven at 150 degrees Celsius. Mine took just under 2 hours to dry out and open up but it entirely depends on how damp they are and they’re size so just keep an eye on them! Next you’ll want to leave them to cool then spray paint them white and leave to dry. Finally, paint them in whichever colours you choose with craft paint!
THE HATS…
In case you hadn’t heard Oliver Bonas have teamed up with Age UK & Innocent Knit smoothies to help support the ‘big knit’ campaign! This means that when you buy one of these hats from them £5 will go towards Age UK! YAY! So, you can look awesome & do your bit for charity! The hats me and Em are wearing are the Women’s Strawberry Pom Pom Hand-Knitted Hat and the Adult’s Blueberry Pie Hand-Knitted Hat.
THE TREATS…
No hot chocolate bar would be complete without some sugar treats! You’ll want to make sure you have plenty mini marshmallows on hand, along with some squirty cream & sprinkles! We thought it would be fun to add in some pink lollies and candy canes for good measure too! If you wanted to be extra naughty you could even put out some booze to drop into your hot choc!
It doesn’t get much christmasier (yep I’m passing that as a word) than this folks! All you need now is some festive tunes and you’re all set! Xxx
