THIS WHIMSICAL COUPLE CHOSE TO GIVE BACK ON THEIR WEDDING DAY
Adam and Kelli met whilst volunteering for the AmeriCorps. Five years later, Adam was so overcome by love for his longtime girlfriend, he proposed whilst walking through Central Park. They hopped into a cab and headed to a pawn shop for an engagement ring.
They wanted their wedding to be as whimsical as their relationship and went about planning a bright, colorful, family-centered day of all encompassing love.
“Since we met whilst giving back, we wanted to continue that theme throughout our wedding. We tried to support local small businesses and chose Irvine Nature Center not only because it is beautiful, but also because it’s a worthwhile non-profit that makes an impact in the community” Kelli told us.
“We donated many of our decorations to the venue to be used for future weddings and as supplies for the center’s nature preschool.”
“Our wedding was a collective effort by family and friends. Our bridal party consisted of our 4 siblings and bouquets, invitations, and DJ services were all done by family and friends. At least 5 people spent time cutting hearts out of cardstock, and the ladies of the family got together to make the floral centerpieces. An aunt even made Jello shots for the reception.”
“We wanted color, character, and a really good party. Our ceremony was filled with so much love and joy, laughter and tears. The forecast called for rain but the overcast skies just made our colors richer. We shared the vows we wrote together, chowed down on barbecue, and danced like no one’s ever danced before.”
