THIS COUPLE WERE THE FIRST TO TIE THE KNOT AT THIS NON-TRADITIONAL WEDDING VENUE!
Kaspar and Ali had been friends their whole lives, summers were spent swimming in the ocean, building sandcastles and watching sunsets over bonfires. Eventually an easy friendship, became love and the pair ended up on that same beach promising themselves to each other.
“It was a windy day, the ocean waves crashed behind us, our friends and family huddled in close while we were married by a dear friend who managed to include donuts in our ceremony – we wouldn’t have had it any other way.” Ali began.
“When planning our wedding we tried to figure out what was most important to us, in the end keeping the wedding small and intimate, the ceremony outside and the food and drink abundant were all the things we wanted. The fact that we managed all three is a testament to all the hard work and love that went into the planning.
The beach was an easy choice for us; the challenge was that there had never been a wedding at this venue before – it was really just beach clubhouse and bathhouse that was only open during the summer. We started from scratch, reached out to all the vendors ourselves, created a floorplan for the tent, designed invitations, programs and welcome bags; we orchestrated the whole thing, Kaspar and I and my mother” Added Ali.
“Our theme was Swedish midsummer and donuts – a nod to my mother’s Swedish heritage and our love of all things confectionary. There were a lot of moving parts, a few stressful moments, but really in the end it was a wild ride that culminated in a feast of powdered donuts and a dance party under the full moon – we never wanted the magical night to end.”
