MAKE THESE PAPEL PICADO DRINK STIRRERS FOR CINCO DE MAYO
If you love Mexico as much as we do then you’re going to LOVE today’s DIY! You know that at BB we’re all about incorporating your personality into your wedding day wherever you can, you can do that through your hobbies, things that mean something to you as a couple and even places you’ve been together and today we’re gonna show you how you can add a little splash of Mexican fiesta to your decor just in time for Cinco De Mayo! Not only are these drink stirrers super easy to make but if you want your styling to look a little Mexican then these will really tie in the theme nicely!
YOU WILL NEED:
Coloured card // BBQ Skewers // Craft glue // Cricut Explore // Cricut standard grip mat // Note: If you don’t have a Cricut machine then you can always print the stencils onto card and use an exacto or stanley knife to cut them out but it will be really really fiddly //
STEP 1:
Download the flag template designs 1, 2 & 3, then upload them to the Cricit Design Space and save them as a cut image.
STEP 2:
Size them to however big you would like them (ours were 2 inches by 2 inches) and stick your card down onto your mat.
STEP 3:
Load your card and hit that go button!
STEP 4:
Once you’ve pulled them away from your Cricut mat simple glue to them to ends of your BBQ skewers and away you go!
Now grab a margarita and some tequila and start celebrating! xx
P.S If you’d prefer the templates as JPEGs then here are 1, 2 & 3!
Hi,
Thank you so much for the great images! I can’t upload them because the files are pdf, not jpeg. So I made them jpegs but then they lose all the cut stuff in the middle when I go to weld. Help? Thank you!
Hi Kayte, Sorry about that I’ve added the JPEGs at the end of the post now for you 🙂
Hi!
I absolutely lOvE these little flags! So I uploaded the images onto my cricut explore but when I sent it to Cut, it takes about 10 minutes to cut one flag. I don’t understand why?? I can’t figure it out? Is it the image? Is it too large? If you have any information, I would so appreciate it! Thank you!
Hi Kara,
That’s so strange! Is it just the flags that are taking ages to cut out? Maybe you need to update your Cricut software or perhaps it was just a slow wifi connection at that time? It shouldn’t be the image though, they didn’t take that long when we cut them out x
