10 COLOURFUL PLACES TO VISIT FOR YOUR HONEYMOON

With summer just around the corner and Jess off on a secret getaway with her other half, my thoughts are quickly turning to holiday destinations. I am obsessed with finding colourful places to visit and with these next few months also being popular for weddings, I am sure there are lots of you considering where to honeymoon after the occasion. So I have listed my top 10 favourite colourful destinations perfect for anyone, wanting a fun little getaway this summer!

Where to go
Oia: A small town in Santorini and perhaps the most famous, thanks to its colourful buildings that look like a picture taken straight off the front of a postcard. Jess was lucky enough to spend a few days in Oia last year and she wrote this fantastic guide, full of wonderful photos and if you want to see more check out her video.
2. LONDON

Where to go
Sketch: For all lovers of the colour pink, Sketch is a quirky place to eat, drink and be entertained. The decor has a distinctive style with pink walls and pink furniture, whilst the food is said to be imaginative and extremely delicious!

Notting Hill: This charming part of London is as picturesque as it appears in the famous film Notting Hill, with lots of colourful houses and brightly painted doors it’s like stepping straight on to the set of movie.
3. VENICE

Where to go
Burano: Can only be described as the happiest place in Italy. Canals are lined with colourful houses, pretty plant pots filled with blooms decorate the windows, whilst gondolas merrily travel up and down – Bellissimo!
4. SAN FRANCISCO

Where to go
Mission & Castro District: With loads of colourful murals, building, houses and streets it’s easy to see why this part of san francisco is a popular destination for colour lovers! Anne-Solange Tardy of Cachemire & Soie has written a quick guide to the city which is fantastic if you are planning a trip.
5. SAN LUIS OBISPO

Where to go
The Madonna Inn: This place totally redefines the word unique! It has 110 whimsical guestrooms all decorated with enchanting themes and it even has PINK tennis courts! Studio DIY did a whole guide on this place, which is well worth a read if you’re planning a visit.
6. SANTA CRUZ

Where to go
The Boardwalk: A vibrant amusement park by the seaside with a spectacular rainbow sky glider. This place will make all your Pinterest dreams come true!

7. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Where to go
Santo Domingo: The capital of the Dominican Republic is paved with old cobbled streets and lined with colourful buildings, this vibrant capital is not to be missed! If you are planning a holiday here anytime soon you should totally read Jess’s guide and check out her video diary here.
8. MEXICO

Where to go
Sayulita: A cute little hippie town famous for its colourful streets and laid back attitude, Sayulita is every surfers paradise.
Xcaret Park: An animal lover’s haven, the park is home to many attractions such as Jaguar Island, Butterfly Pavilion, Dolphin Swims & Marine turtles, with my favourite being the Manatee Lagoon. Explore the underwater caves, snorkel, visit the folk art Museum and a Mexican cemetery. Watch the Voladores De Papantla (or flying-men) and in the evening sit back and catch the Mexico Espectacular – a show all about the history and traditions of Mexico, it really is a must see! Isla Mujeres: A small colourful Island in Mexico, where you can hire a golf cart to explore the vibrant island for a few hours.
9. CAPE TOWN

Where to go
Bo-Kapp: A buzzing, fun packed and vibrant neighbourhood in central Cape Town. Take time to enjoy the old cobbled streets, colourful houses and unique food.
10. COPENHAGEN

Where to go
Tivoli Gardens: Even in winter this is hands down one of the most colourful places to be! The Christmas markets will be sure to get you in the festive spirit!
Nyhavn: Here you will find some of the oldest houses in Copenhagen, painted in vibrant colours and lining the dock, Nyhavn is the perfect place to kick back, relax and try some of Copenhagens finest food & drink. For more information on what to see and where to stay check out our guide.
