CREATE YOUR OWN MEXICAN FIESTA WITH THESE COLOURFUL WEDDING IDEAS
I am going to be going on about this all week now but this Friday marks one year since Mr T and I got engaged in Mexico! So I thought it only fitting that we had some Mexican inspiration for you.
Have you ever wondered what inspires creatives to get together and devize beautiful shoots such as this? Well wonder no more, as we asked photographer, Julie Jagt to fill us in on what motivated her to concoct a shoot with such fun and colourful fiesta inspired wedding ideas – you would never believe it all started with a pinata!
“In the midst of winter, I was wanting to put together a styled shoot that was bold, full of colour and a lot of fun and I soon combined forces with Chanel from Sublime Celebrations to get the ball rolling. Wanting to steer away from the typical ocean scene on Vancouver Island, the watercolour fiesta theme came from purchasing a pinata a year prior without any rhyme or reason and having no clue what to do with it, but it was just the inspiration I was looking for!” She told us.
“Titas Mexican Restaurant in Courtenay, British Columbia was the perfect place to host our shoot, with a garden and stone courtyard, bright yellow building and lush greenery. They were gracious enough to give us free reign of their place all morning!”
“We gathered a team of powerhouse local vendors to help bring our vision to life, including a local cake maker who created the most kick-ass cake complete with a fiery ombre bottom layer, sugared flowers and a GOLD CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE!” She added.
“I am full with gratitude for everyone involved with making this shoot a reality. I couldn’t imagine a cooler group of woman to spend the day with…especially when it involves a bottle of tequila ;)”
