THE CLASSY WAY TO DO NEON AT YOUR WEDDING
Today’s inspiration is another of those fun and colourful shoots that just makes you so so happy! I love neon, but it’s not the easiest of themes to pull off at a wedding. Over done and it can look tacky, under done and it can look a bit sad but when it’s done just right, it is a unforgettable.
Based around ‘City Brights’, Fine art photographer Christa O’Brien explains her inspiration…
“The ‘City Brights’ couple is sophisticated, modern, and a little funky. They enjoy art in every form, from paintings to pulp films. For their wedding venue, they’ve chosen an industrial space with clean lines and a classic black-and-white palette that allows them to showcase their fun side through creative (and bright!) design elements. They are sophisticated, but they want to push the envelope of conventional tastes.” Christa told us.
“They are bringing a West Coast vibe to East Coast avant-garde, and they enjoy a mix of vintage chic with the culture of now. In planning their wedding, it was essential that their personalities – rather than typical wedding trends – be evident in every detail. For them, love is playful and fun.” she added.
“It is easy for any real couple to take a modern and relatively empty venue and fill it with neon pops of color from the florals, to shoes and socks, to their jewelry! Black and white makes a perfect palette base for ANY neon color, so make it yours (and make it fun!) Neon is sure to stand out, so break out the glow sticks, bright jewelry, and keep it funky!”
