THESE CUBAN THEMED WEDDINGS IDEAS ARE PERFECT FOR A SUMMER WEDDING
We love it when things get tropical around here! The rainbow of colours make the gloomiest of days seem brighter and the fruits and greenery have us daydreaming of sand between our toes and sun on our skin. I have always wanted to visit Cuba, with colorful buildings and funky cars it’s probably not surprising that it’s on my bucket list, so when stylist, Bridgette of City Celebration contacted us with this quirky Cuban themed wedding inspiration, I just had to share it with you.
“As creatives and event/floral designers, we are constantly trying to anticipate the next big thing!” stylist, Bridgette told us.
“We have been daydreaming about a trip to Cuba for awhile (maybe because we love Cuban sandwiches…ha) and now that travel restrictions to Cuba have been eased we started thinking an influx of Cuban-themed weddings were on the horizon–it also might gives us a great excuse to travel there!” She added.
“This styled shoot took place at the Hilton Tysons Corner right outside of Washington, DC but we wanted to make it feel as tropical as possible. The Hilton was kind enough to let us use their atrium all day and with the wall of glass windows leading out into a beautiful garden it created the perfect backdrop to stage our shoot. Bright colors, plenty of foliage, and tropical touches helped us to round out the vision! We spent a lot of time researching Cuban customs, indigenous plants and flowers, and (of course) cocktails!”
“This theme can easily translate for those wanting to create their own Cuban wedding! Serve a specialty cocktail of Cuba Libres which is just rum and coke and give sets of Dominoes away as favors. Playing dominoes is a frequent past time in Cuba.”
“Serve desserts or cakes that use local fruits such as mango and papaya and find a venue that has lots of greenery. Lastly, send us the pics because we can’t wait to see what you do!!!!”
