Merari and Fernando got engaged in June and were married in September, giving them only three months to plan their wedding. Their ceremony took place at the top of Tree People Park in Malibu, CA and their colorful reception was at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood.
“Our entire relationship was long-distance based between Los Angeles and Buenos Aires-Argentina” Merari explained.
“And because of the distance, our families weren’t here to help us so we had to do everything on our own.”
“When we were planning our wedding we knew that we wanted something outdoors, simple and intimate.” Merari continued.
“We choose both locations, our outfits, time of the ceremony and the color palette mostly based in how we wanted the pictures to look.”
“Since we’re both from out of the country we knew that most of our friends and family would not be able to make it, only our parents and siblings and some of our closest friends were able to come at such short notice, but that made things easier since there were only 23 people.”
“We choose convenience and ease over perfect and traditional in most cases. So no bridesmaids or groomsmen, no big entrance, no first dance, no seating chart, etc. Except for the ceremony, and the fact that I was in a white wedding dress and my husband was wearing a suit nothing else felt like it was a wedding at all.”
“We tried to keep our budget low, because we live to travel. Even tough we ended up spending a little more than we planned we were still able to get a 2 week adventure honeymoon to India.”
