MAKE THIS CUTE EMBELLISHED DRESS FOR YOUR BRIDESMAIDS!
In case you haven’t heard we’re going to be attending The Handmade Fair this weekend with Cricut and we are SO excited about it! One of the things we really wanted to make for our stand was a fun and cute bridesmaid dress and since embellishments and floral print are so in right now we gave that a go! I just LOVE how pretty it turned out, a dress like this really would make the most amazing bridesmaid outfit!
YOU WILL NEED:
A plain dress (we got our pastel pink one from Asos) // A Cricut machine // Metallic Poster board // All purpose glue // A glue gun //
STEP 1:
The first step is to make all of the flowers, I used flower templates that were available on the Cricut design space and there are literally hundreds to choose from!
STEP 2:
Once you’ve found your shapes you’ll want to vary the sizes of them, I sized the smallest flowers 0.5 inches wide, then the medium sized ones 1 inch wide and the larger flowers around 2 inches wide.
STEP 3:
Pop your poster board into the Cricut machine and allow it to cut out all of your flowers!
STEP 4:
Start to glue your flowers using the all purpose glue, I found that I liked the effect when I glued two of the same shape together, it also makes the embellishments much thicker and stronger.
STEP 5:
Once you’ve made all of your flowers, (you’ll want around 100 flowers in total) it’s time to heat up your glue gun and start adhering them to the dress! I started on the waistline and worked my way up varying the placements and sizes as I went until I was happy with the pattern!
And that really is all there is to it! It’s as simple as making the flowers and gluing them on! And it looks so effective! Of course if you’re a dab hand at sewing you could sew on your embellishments but quite frankly sewing is not one of my strengths!
Don’t forget if you’re coming to the Handmade fair on the weekend come and see the dress and us in person! We’d love to see you! We’ll be on the Cricut stand! xx
