THESE ROCK & ROLL ELOPEMENT IDEAS SHOW A SIDE OF CHICAGO YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE SEEN BEFORE?
I would probably place Chicago as one of my top 5 favourite cities in the whole wide world! Although when I visited I was never fortunate enough to see the side of Chicago that we will be sharing with you today.
Keen to create a styled shoot that was less glam and more urban romance, creative photographer, Lisa Kay shot this styled shoot at the less-used spots of Chicago using the colorful murals in the Logan Square Neighborhood and the “L” train. The bride wore a short fun wedding dress with the funkiest spiked high heels and later combat boots whilst the groom sported suspenders and a polka dot tie.
“I wanted a very bright, indie, artsy feel and I wanted the backdrop to show the more grittier spots in Chicago” explained Lisa Kay.
“The shoot concept was a little bit rock & roll, a little bit hipster and a whole lot Chicago. I found my two talented models, Jessica and Daniel, via craigslist. I convinced them that I was not a creepy craigslist weirdo but actually a legit Chicago wedding photographer and low and behold that they showed up the day of the shoot – score! From the fun heels with the spikes to Daniel’s suspenders and polka dot tie – these two were up for anything to help me create my vision. We focused our shoot around the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago using the numerous colorful murals as inspiration. The Ferris Bueller mural …. I had to capture that one! We also used the space under the L tracks and ended the shoot on the L platform to get some shots of Jessica and Daniel with the train going by behind them. I cannot thank my models enough for helping me create my colorful artistic styled Chicago wedding shoot!”
