MAKE THIS FLORAL DIY PLATE PLACE SETTING
I’ve always loved the idea of combining place settings with plates, it’s been a DIY i’ve wanted to do for a while so when Cricut asked us to create a place setting for the Handmade Fair I knew exactly what I wanted to make! Here’s how to make your own…
YOU WILL NEED:
Plates // Vinyl in a number of colours // A Cricut Explore // Transfer tape //
STEP 1:
Choose your flowers from the Cricut design space, as you can see I chose a variation of shapes and sizes.
STEP 2:
I then loaded my mat into the machine and cut the flowers out into a variety of colours.
STEP 3:
Next, using your transfer tape, place the tape over top of one of your flowers and rub down onto the design. Then peel away your transfer tape, taking the design with you and place it down onto the plate. Again, rub down onto the flower then peel away the tape leaving the design on the plate!
STEP 4:
Repeat with all of your flowers! I decided to do mine in the shape of a heart but feel free to place your flowers wherever you like!
STEP 5:
Finally, choose a font you like in the Cricut design space and let your machine do the cutting again! Then transfer it over to the top of your plate! I think these would look particularly pretty with ‘Bride’ at the top and the plates would be amazing for a bridal shower or hen party!
*Please note, your guests won’t be able to eat off of these plates, you’ll need to spray the plates with some sort of lacquer for this to happen, but I would suggest that these are used for decor and then the food is served on normal plates and placed on top of these.
