THESE WEDDING IDEAS ARE ALL RAINBOWS AND UNICORNS!
I’ve said it before, but styled shoots are one of my favourite things to share on Bespoke Bride. I love seeing how creative suppliers can be when they are free to do whatever comes into their mind. Not only is it a great way to see how skilled a supplier is, it is also fantastic inspiration as Annabel from Dolly Dimples Wedding & Events explains.
“Weddings are slowly becoming more design focused and a way of expressing what couples like. Creating a wedding out of the ordinary with a fun laid back feel is where we come in. We are also strong believers and often see, interior and fashion trends filtering their way into wedding trends.” She began.
“With this in mind we based our inspiration on flamboyant rainbow colours, brightly decorating our chosen space verses our love for pastels and unicorns, some real eye candy! Rainbows and unicorns are making a big appearance on social media with rainbow cakes being a big hit, We feel this is a perfect time for Dolly Dimples Weddings to shine and a real magical match!”
“We brought a fun celebration element into our locations beautiful church, a ribbon backdrop with crafted paper flowers set the backdrop to the ceremony display we created. The colored confetti and lavish floral arrangements lined the aisle giving a joyful aspect and diverting the eye to the backdrop focal point. The elaborate balloon layout added a splash of colour and complimented the height of the church ceiling.”
“The industrial style barn was the prefect urban setting for our hay bale seating and sweet arrangement, creating a vision of inspiration and unique flair. Rustic elements filtered through with the girly aspect making it a more grown up version of your inner child. We had hay bales with our signature heart sticks, adding a sprinkling of love. A wooden crate acting as a table top showcasing the amazing tiered unicorn cake and likewise inspired treats and a dusting of unicorn confetti. We added a unicorn shaped treats menu detailing all on offer. And a unicorn head wall mount and flower wreath gave depth to the look and also the large initials finished with flowers were an updated personalised feature.”
So how can you applying these ideas in reality?
“When designing a styled wedding theme we have to be realistic with applying our designs as these often have to be scaled into a larger space and last the test of time throughout the day.” Explained Annabel.
“Even though photos can sometimes only capture small elements, it’s the smaller details that bring everything together as well. We featured two rows of balloons within the church and even though you could add these to all pews if you wished and budget allowed, two pews is also still a realistic fun detail. I always advise to my couples that guests will not know any different, if something isn’t quite right or your budget only allows a smaller scale they will believe that’s how it is supposed to be and with the couples quirky planning it will be a day to remember.”
