MAKE THESE FUN ST PATRICK’S DAY GOLD COIN MARBLED COOKIES
As March is upon us, (say WHAT it’s March already!!) it’s time to go searching for that pot of gold. No need to look too far – you can create your own pot of golden coins with this simple cookie DIY! They’re so easy to make and they taste absolutely delicious! Today, Lauren from Toast from The Host is showing us how to decorate these fun oreo cookies…
YOU WILL NEED:
1 bag of White Chocolate Melts // 2 Food Gel Colors in Green and Gold // Toothpick or Bamboo Skewer // Parchment Paper // 1 Glass Bowl // Golden Oreos // 1 Tablespoon // Optional: Lemon Extract //
STEP 1:
Lay out a sheet of parchment paper and lay out Oreos on sheet.
STEP 2:
If using a microwave, melt entire bag of White Chocolate Melts in Glass Bowl being sure to stir every 30 seconds until all chocolate has melted and is smooth. Spoon 3-5 tablespoon(s) of water to thin out chocolate. Continue to fold and stir chocolate until it is a smooth batter-like consistency.
STEP 3:
Squeeze one drop of gel colors into bowl and begin to swirl both using a “figure 8” method using a toothpick or bamboo skewer.
STEP 4:
Dip golden Oreos (once) into swirl mixture and lay flat on parchment paper to encourage the chocolate to harden. Need to move faster? Place in the fridge to speed up the hardening process.
STEP 5:
Wear some green so you don’t get pinched and hand out these tasty golden chocolate coins to everyone looking for a pot of gold. Enjoy!
Optional: Add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract to melted chocolate to it a lemon-y kick! YUM! I think these would make such great favours if you popped them in little clear favour bags or they would make a great addition to the dessert table or even just a sweet treat at your bridal shower! Anyone else craving Oreos now?
