OUR 2017 SURVEY RESULTS ARE IN!
Hey guys! You might have seen a couple of weeks ago that we launched our 2017 survey! Hundreds of you took the time to answer our questions, and lots of you raised some really good points on how we could improve the blog and provided us with excellent suggestions for future features!
As always we thought it would be fun to breakdown the questions that we asked and share the results with you, but before we get started we wanted to offer a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Emily Russell from Middlesex, as you are the winner of a whole host of wedding goodies!! Which will be on their way to you very soon indeed!
So, Why Do We Release a Survey Every Year?
In short, we always want to make sure that we are creating content that you want to see! Our goal is to not only provide inspiration for your wedding but help you plan too. So hosting a survey is a no-brainer, it ensures that we remain on the right track and that we continue to provide useful information to our readers.
Whilst trying to decide on what questions we need to ask, we ensure that every answer we receive is going to be beneficial, i.e. they tell us what we are doing well so that we continue to provide more of that type of content, what we can improve on so we can make changes as required and suggestions for future features as we realise that times change and what brides and grooms might need help with now, might be different from those that were planning 2 or 3 years ago?
There are of course so many things that we want to know from our readers, so narrowing down the questions is always the hardest, but rest assured every question you answer serves a purpose.
So, here are a few of the questions we asked and your answers..
Who Are You?
Being a very personal blog, naturally the first thing we wanted to know was… who are you? Not surprisingly, most of you were brides to be, but we loved that we were also getting readers from other walks of life too, DIY lovers and other bloggers in particular.
If we dig a little deeper into the other readers of Bespoke Bride, it was interesting to see that we are also frequently visited by other members of the wedding party and wedding suppliers too, as well as retaining some of the brides that have since got married but still keep coming back for more – I think that’s pretty awesome!
What Are Your’ Favourite Posts?
Naturally, the next thing we wanted to know was… ‘What is your favourite posts?’ A whopping 74% of you said your fave was our DIY’s and that makes us very happy bunnies indeed! This is after all the niche we were always intending to carve for ourselves and it looks like we are well on our way to making that happen. We put so much thought and hard work in our tutorials so it is very rewarding to know that our hard work is being appreciated.
Second most popular was our ‘Real Weddings’! We are so happy that you love our real-life couples as much as we do. They are all so unique and individual in their own ways and we think you will agree that it really shines through on their wedding days. You love using real weddings as a source of inspiration but we also learnt that you love to read their stories, which is great, because we love telling them! So, we promise there will be more of that from now on.
Overall, we felt we were on the right track with the content we are already providing and are definitely hitting our goals.
What Type Of DIY’s Would You Like To See More Of?
Still jumping for joy over the fact that our DIY’s are so popular with our readers, we obviously wanted to know what types of DIY you wanted to see more of… and basically you wanted all the DIY’s!!
There are so many categories to cover but you know how much we love a challenge and will try our very best to ensure we are creating DIY’s from the huge list you guys provided us with, so more centrepieces, backdrops, table decorations and favours.
Loads of you were even asking for more hammer and nails / lifestyle stuff, which is something we have been thinking of doing for ages but wasn’t sure if it was the right direction for Bespoke Bride? But now you guys are asking for it, you can expect to see a wider range of DIY’s being shared here in the coming months.
You Are Most Likely To Try a DIY If…?
After finding out just how many types of DIY you would like to see featured, we then needed to know how we could make these more doable, so we asked when you were most likely to try one of our DIY’s? And we were super suprised to see that being inspired and the design of a DIY was more likely to tempt you in to trying a DIY than cost and skill level.
Of course we are totally on board with this and will continue to ensure that our DIY’s continue to be inspiring and on trend but don’t worry we will still keep in mind affordability and ease too, so that there is something for everyone.
Any Other Wedding Features You Would Like To See?
Of course, we love our DIY’s but as I mentioned earlier, we also want to help make your wedding planning journey that little bit easier, so it is really important to us that we provide other types of useful content to. With that in mind, we asked you what other types of wedding related content you would like to see featured on our blog and you had so many awesome ideas!
It’s really interesting discovering what you guys want more of, from hairstyle and fashion ideas to advice pieces on catering and tips for the groom, but there were a few more serious suggestions too.
Coping with ill-health whilst planning a wedding was one that really struck a cord with me and one of our readers even suggested setting up a local brides meet up! It seems that more and more of our our brides (and grooms) are looking for support from a community of people in a similar position and we will soon be in talks on how we can make this happen, so watch this space!
What are Your’ Favourite Wedding Trends?
Finally, When doing interviews we are always asked what our favourite wedding trends are and to be honest the question always stumps us because we don’t exactly follow wedding trends. But, we do love to keep our eye on trends in general and one of our favourite things is to incorporate lifestyle and fashion trends in to our own wedding DIY’s.
We wanted to find out what trends you guys think are most popular at the moment and you didn’t disappoint! From Minimalist to Mix & Match and Unicorns to Flamingos, we are going to have blast brainstorming new ideas for 2017!
