How to Combine Functionality and Style in Home Design
SALT LAKE CITY WALL CRAWL (PLUS A BONUS RAINBOW ROAD!)
If you guys have been keeping up with our instagram then you’ll know that last week we were in Salt Lake City with Cricut! We’re going to be sharing more about why we were there next week but for now we wanted to share with you a bunch of the colourful walls and murals we found whilst we were there and their locations! So if you’re heading out to Salt Lake City any time soon then be sure to grab a few snaps in front of these fun backdrops! (Also a big thanks and shoutout to The House That Lars Built & Hot Pink Style for the helpful tips too!)
HOT PINK WALL
I had to start with a hot pink wall! This one is actually the side of an adult toy & lingerie shop and FYI most of them have some great walls, we drove past a stripey pink and purple one a few times in an uber I wish I could have stopped and photographed! You can find this hot pink wall across the street from Target on 300 West.
WAVY PASTEL WALL
This wall was HUGE you guys so if you wanted to get a big group photo in front of a big pastel wall then this one is for you! It’s behind Taco Time 810 S. State Street.
RAINBOW CROSSROADS
We just so happened to see this rainbow road when scrolling through #saltlakecity on instagram, it’s amazing isn’t it?! There are four of them too but please take care when trying to take photos in the middle of the road, we were not so elegantly running out to grab the shot then running back when traffic was coming! The rainbow crossroads are right outside The Gateway shopping mall 400 West 100 South.
YELLOW BRICK WALL
You guys I am so sorry I can’t actually remember or find the exact location of where this yellow building was, we were heading from the hot pink wall towards the wavy pastel one though and just happened upon it! If I find where it was I’ll add it in here or if anyone happens to know please leave us a comment and let us know!
ORANGE AND BLUE MURAL
This was such a fun one, the colours are amazing in real life! Me and Emily were pretty low on energy by this point with the sun beating down on us but we managed to get this mid air jumping shot! ha! Who’s have thought we were actually dying of thirst by this point…! This wall is on the side of Tanner Frames, 18 East 800 South.
DUSTY BLUE DINER MURAL
One morning me and Emily headed out to find some vegan breakfast and Blue Plate Diner came up in a few search results for us, we were pleasantly surprised to find a couple of colourful walls right outside! If you happen to head here make sure you go inside and try the vegan pancakes, they were delicious! This is located 2041 South 2100 East.
PASTEL GREEN WALL
Right opposite Blue Plate Diner is this pastel green wall too! It’s also off the main road slightly and around the corner so if you’re not particularly fond of tons of cars driving past you while you pose for photos this wall is a great option! 2041 South 2100 East.
TURQUOISE WOODEN FENCE
While you’re taking photos at the hot pink wall you may as well grab some photos against the turquoise wooden fence directly by the side of it am I right?! Again, this is located opposite the Target on 300 West.
BOOKS MURAL
This adorable mural is full of classic book paintings from The Wizard of Oz to Gone With The Wind! It’s behind the Hotel Monaco, if you walk towards the parking lot you’ll see it! 15 West 200 South. (Fresher Than You gold stickers from our Beyonce lyric vinyl sticker range!)

Update: rainbow road is no longer there
Noooooo!!! What happened?
The shopping center painted the crosswalks rainbow for Pride Month in June. In July, they repainted it red, white and blue for Independence Day. Last spring, they painted it the colors of the Utah Jazz (which plays nearby at Vivint Smart Home Arena), and they’ll likely do that again when the season starts in the fall.
