MAKE THIS TROPICAL VINYL MENU FOR YOUR COCKTAIL STATION!
Ok hands up who loves cocktails?! I myself am a huge fan and tend to go for the super fruity and sweet ones but I absolutely love trying new drinks (especially when they look super pretty!) so last week we shared with you 3 different cocktail recipes that would be great to serve at a wedding reception or even your bachelorette party and they were all YUM! This got me thinking though, what good is a cocktail station without a drinks menu?! And BAM. Today’s DIY was born! Now don’t worry, you don’t have to create your menu using the same drinks as us, you can customise to your own favourites! Here’s how to create your very own tropical cocktail menu…
YOU WILL NEED:
A piece of glass or plastic // Pink vinyl // Green vinyl // Blush/Peach vinyl // Gold vinyl // ‘Cocktails’ graphic // ‘Cactus graphic’ // Cactus flower graphic’ // A Cricut Machine // Transfer tape //
STEP 1:
Go ahead and download the above templates of the cocktails graphic, the cactus graphic and the cactus flower graphic then start a new project and upload them to the Cricut design space, be sure to save them as a cut image.
STEP 2:
Next you need to add them into your project and size them to the size of your glass, I used an A4 piece of glass for this (which is 8.27 inches wide) so I wanted to size my cocktail title a little smaller than that.
STEP 3:
Next I added in the text of my cocktails, I decided to have the names of the drinks in gold (font size 43) and then a little description underneath in pink (font size 25). So go ahead and add in the details of the drinks you’re going to be serving, I used the font ‘Cricut Sans’ in regular. Then, insert the cactus graphic along with it’s flower and position to the left of the text. Here’s a quick look at how my project was looking at this point:
STEP 4:
Hit that go button on your Cricut machine and load your mats in with the relevant vinyl colours and let the machine do the work for you. Once it’s complete, pull away the negative spaces on the vinyl until you’re left only with your cut out fonts and cactus.
STEP 5:
Place a cut out section of your transfer tape onto one of your font sections, rub hard then pull away bringing the vinyl with you. Next, position it onto the glass, rub down hard again and pull away the transfer tape leaving the vinyl in place.
STEP 6:
Repeat this process until all of your vinyl has transferred over to the glass. I started from the top applying the cocktails text first, then worked my way down all of the cocktail list and finally added on the cactus, then the cactus flower.
Now all that’s left to do is pop it on display ready for your guests to see all of the drinks options available! This sign would work great for an engagement party, a bachelorette or even as welcome drinks at your wedding! By the way if you want to actually make the cocktails that we’ve used on our cocktail menu then you can find the recipes here! I’m very tempted to whip up a batch for the weekend! xx
Absolutely fab! So colourful and inviting.
Love these ideas. An entire recipe book for drinks would be great also.
