CALLING ALL DISNEY FANS! WE VISITED THE REAL LIFE UP HOUSE & IT WAS MAGICAL!
Once I found out that me and Emily would be travelling to Salt Lake City last month I immediately went into research mode and headed straight to Pinterest to find out any tips for visiting, where I could find the most colourful walls and any must see locations that we just HAD to visit when we were there. Once I had collected a bunch of information I had it all saved on my phone ready, I thought I’ll give one last search on Pinterest and just casually scroll through the feed of ‘Salt Lake City’ and that’s when I saw it. The real life Up house! I actually couldn’t believe my eyes it looked so goddam cute and immediately shot to the top of our ‘must see’ list!
After finding the up house on instagram we were delighted to find out that you could book a slot to take photos there, you can take a couple of quick selfies outside of the house if you’re just passing through but guys, if you really want to get the full benefit of this house then we really recommend booking a slot! You can choose whether you just want an outside shoot or whether you want it to include inside the house too (which also looks just like the film! Paradise Falls picture and all!) We opted for a half an hour outside shoot and was grateful when Lynette (who lives in the house with her family) let us make a same day booking since we were flying back to the UK that evening!
We obviously had to find ourselves some helium balloons because we knew they would make the photos SO MUCH BETTER and feel so much more like Up! We got an Uber to the Wallmart closest to the house (located on 13400 S and Bangerter Hwy) it’s only a 5 minute drive away from there so it was perfect. 12 multi coloured balloons later and we were ready to go!
Lynette was waiting to greet us when we arrived and she was incredible! Not only was she really friendly and welcoming but she even offered to take photos of us (which was perfect because we always find it difficult to get photos of the two of us together when we’re travelling). She was an absolute master at getting the shots, she had us posing on the porch, casually strolling past the house and she knows all of the best angles to capture the house perfectly!
The details on this house are what really makes it, they have paid so much attention to detail! From the hand print mailbox to the hose pipe right outside of the house and even the little squirrel ornament sitting on the porch! We were so in love with everything from the moment we saw it! (Don’t even get me started on how cute the white picket fence is!)
I’ve seen some proposals outside of this house on instagram and even real brides and grooms getting photographs here after their wedding, they look incredibly cute as you can imagine! If you want any information about having a photo shoot here then all of the information you need is over on their website and the house address is 13218 Herriman Rose Blvd, Herriman, UT 8409. We just know you guys will love it as much as we did! xxx
