DIY COLOURFUL SNOWFLAKE WREATH
A Christmas wreath is the perfect staple piece of decoration to brighten up any door, especially when you use bright colours like in our DIY snowflake one! Today’s wreath is SO easy to make but since the snowflakes are made out of colourful cardstock we recommend this be an indoor wreath (trust us, it looks just as cute on the inside PLUS that means you get to see it every time you walk past the front door!)
YOU WILL NEED:
A Cricut Explore // Polystyrene wreath // Craft paint in the colour of your choice (I went for pastel pink // A paintbrush // Colourful card // A glue gun //
STEP 1:
Paint your wreath in a colour that matches one of your cardstock colours, so that when there are gaps in the snowflakes showing through you’ll see colour instead of white polystyrene. Allow to fully dry.
STEP 2:
Open up the Cricut design space and under the image section, search ‘snowflake’ (this will give you over 580 results since the design space is THAT GOOD for images but just pick a simple one for this project.
STEP 3:
Size your snowflakes to an ideal size compared to your wreath, since my wreath was quite small I decided to size the snowflakes 2inches wide.
STEP 4:
Load your Cricut machine with your chosen cardstock and hit that go button! Leave your Cricut to cut out all of your snowflakes in that colour, and then once it’s finished load the machine with your next colour card. I think this wreath DIY works best 6-7 different colours.
STEP 5:
Once all of your snowflakes have been cut out all that’s left to do is glue them onto your wreath, varying the colours as you go, making sure no two similar colours are next to each other.
And that’s all there is to it! So cute and easy right?! Happy holidays ya’ll! xxx
So colourful! I do love my Cricut, so many possibilities. I’d also love to see this in all white, maybe with a few jewelled centres and for something completely different, one made with black skull shapes. Love it! Sue
