There’s no better way to break up a long winter than by dreaming about your next vacay. Or, if your planning a destination wedding in a foreign country like me, there’s nothing better than seeking out unique inspiration from the couples that have already made it happen! Jaqueline and Alex were married in Hvar, Croatia, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Deciding that they would both like a colourful and non formal day with all the tropical vibes, the couple settle on the very place where they had their first holiday together, just like myself and Mr T! Honestly this makes me so excited!
“Croatia is one of our favourite places and Bonj le bains seemed like an obvious choice as it has beautiful views over the Adriatic Sea.” Jaqueline began.
“It also has great food, great wine and lots of boat trips.”
“We got engaged one year before our wedding day, which left us plenty of time to plan.” She continued.
“We sorted the important things early like the venue hire and the dress. As we were getting married married abroad, we thought it best to hire a wedding planner (who was fantastic!) to make sure everything ran smoothly and so we wouldn’t have too much stress on the day.”
“I used Pinterest to source inspiration for all the flowers, arch, decor and cake – which I wish I had eaten more of.” She laughed.
“We also had the groom and ushers’ shirts customized to have a subtle tropical print lining, to fit the theme and I made party bags for the kids which included disposable cameras for a “photo treasure hunt”, tattoos and sweets.” she added.
“My main piece of advice for anyone else planning a wedding would be to not let anyone else tell you how to plan your wedding – do whatever you want! Also, budget more for your bar bill as it;s always more that you expect, but it’s totally worth it!”
