HOW TO HOST YOUR OWN GALENTINES PARTY
Even though this is primarily a wedding blog and we’re all about the love for your OH up in here, we still think there’s no love quite like that between you and your besties and It’s always nice to take the time to appreciate your gal pals right?! So with valentines just around the corner wouldn’t it be the cutest idea to throw a little Galentines party?! And actually, this theme doesn’t even have to be right by valentines day, it would also work for a pretty epic bridal shower, hen party or bachelorette right?! Cue the heart balloons, confetti canons and all the girl power!
SET THE TABLE
First up, we love the idea of setting the table with adorable heart themed accessories! We got some adorable pink heart plates from Postbox Party and popped heart lollipops and heart napkins around them. We decided that we wanted everything to either be pink or red just to really pack those girlie lovey vibes into everything! This included the flowers running down the centre of the table, and the lovely Beq from Beq’s Bouquets did not disappoint in supplying us with an abundance of gorgeous pink blooms! You’ll also spot our brand new chick flick quote stickers on all of the glasses on the tables, because wants a girlie evening without a little chick flick fun right?! You can grab the stickers here if you like and they include funny quotes from films like mean girls, legally blonde, clueless and more! We filled the drinks with pretty pink lemonade and added a splash of grenadine to create the ombre effect. If you want to be even more extra with your table then you can add a bunch of pink snacks too like pink wafers, pretty pink popcorn or cupcakes! We love these influential women cookies from Aww Sam!
CREATE AN EPIC BACKDROP
To carry on with our colour scheme I really wanted to make a backdrop that would POP in all of the photos, and since we have already made an emoji heart backdrop in the past, balloons backdrops, flower backdrops and many more we went for something much more simple this time. I kid you not ladies, this backdrop is simply rolls of wrapping paper taped to the wall! And it’s as simply as that! We used this pink double sided wrapping paper from Paperchase!
GIVE GIFTS
You don’t have to give your girls gifts of course if you’re trying to keep the costs down but we think it’s a really cute way to show your gals how much you appreciate them! If you’re stuck for ideas then our cute eye masks make great gifts and don’t cost the earth either! You can also check out Huggs’ lovely hangover relief caps – see the picture below!
Or you could let your girls take home one of the glasses that they’re cocktails were in, or make up cute little goodie bags full of sweets and treats! The possibilities are endless!
PLAY GAMES
I love a good game at a party! Whether you decide to play some drinking games or keep it casual with cute games like the heart connect four we found in Flying Tiger! Studio DIY has a great free printable famous besties memory game too which would be fun! The choice is yours what you decide to do at the actual party, of course you could stick on a chick flick movie and watch too!
So what do you guys think?! I can’t even tell you how much fun we had shooting this Galentine’s Party for you guys, there were a lot of laughs! Be sure to check back in next week where we’re going to be sharing some behind-the-scenes footage of what we got up to while we were shooting too!

Some More Galentines Party Ideas
Ladies, brace yourselves—Galentines is no longer just a quirky day to sip rosé and binge-watch rom-coms. It’s a full-blown cultural movement, a kaleidoscope of friendship, indulgence, and unapologetic joy. Last February, I threw a Galentines bash that still lives rent-free in my heart, and I learned that the key to an unforgettable celebration is ditching the clichés and adding a little flair.
First Stop: Themed Tablescapes that Scream “Extra”
Let’s talk about tablescapes—no longer just for Pinterest junkies. I went all out with a “Roses & Rosé” theme. Think cascading blooms, golden goblets, and tiny cards with cheeky quotes like, “You’re the avocado to my toast.” A friend of mine created a more unconventional vibe with a “Hot Wings & Heartstrings” setup—messy but hilarious. The charm of these setups lies in how they reflect your group’s quirks. Pro tip: Splurge on fresh flowers. Yes, faux ones are cheaper, but real blooms have this magnetic energy that pulls the room together.
Cooking or Ordering In? The Eternal Debate
One group insists on artisanal charcuterie boards, meticulously arranging cheeses like they’re auditioning for The Great British Bake Off. Another squad opts for greasy takeout. Last year, I tried both—pasta bar and tacos (hey, carbs don’t judge). While making your own spread feels wholesome, it’s also a monumental hassle. Ordering food ensures you’re not the host frantically Googling “why won’t my fondue melt?” at the last minute. My take? Balance indulgence with convenience—half homemade, half Uber Eats.
Games & Giggling: From Nostalgia to Mischief
Games are the lifeblood of a great Galentines bash. Sure, you can play classics like charades, but let’s get real—those don’t come with enough chaos. I once played “Never Have I Ever: Galentines Edition,” which unearthed some spicy revelations (we all learned a lot about each other’s college years). Another hit? DIY friendship bracelets while sipping cocktails. It’s like reliving middle school but with better booze. Just avoid hyper-competitive games like Monopoly—it’s a friendship wrecker, trust me.
A Surprising Twist: Spa Treatments on a Shoestring
Here’s where things took a delightful turn. Inspired by med spas, I set up a DIY beauty bar with face masks, essential oils, and manicure kits. Someone even brought a jade roller, which, despite its Instagram fame, is surprisingly effective. The symbolism here? Friendship is about rejuvenation—giving each other that emotional glow-up. Bonus: Everyone left looking radiant and feeling like queens.
The Magic of a Photo Booth
Picture this: a rainbow sequin backdrop, goofy props (giant sunglasses, feather boas), and Polaroids scattered across the table by midnight. A photo booth isn’t just fun; it’s an ode to memories you’ll treasure when you’re old and grey. Plus, it ensures even the most camera-shy friend ends up immortalized in the chaos.
Reflection
After throwing multiple Galentines parties, one thing’s clear: it’s less about the Pinterest perfection and more about the connections. Whether you’re gorging on pizza or clinking champagne, the real magic is in laughter that echoes like a song you never want to end. This year, my goal is simple: celebrate the brilliant women in my life without overthinking it. Because, honestly, Galentines is proof that love doesn’t always come with a rom-com ending—it often arrives in the form of a bestie holding your hand through life’s messiest moments.
What a great idea!
Grat idea and nice photos 🙂
